Asus ZenFone 3 Laser, ZenFone 3 Zoom and ZenFone 3 Deluxe to receive Oreo in March

Asus is updating three more ZenFone 3 models to Android Oreo by the end of the month, the company confirmed this week. Although no exact release date has been given, Asus Malaysia said the following smartphones will be updated by the end of March: ZenFone 3 Laser, ZenFone 3 Zoom, and ZenFone 3 Deluxe.

These are not the first ZenFone 3 models that will soon receive Android Oreo updates, as Asus has already rolled out Oreo for the regular ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Max. Also, the ZenFone 4 Pro got updates only a few weeks ago.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 rumored to have 12MP and 13MP cameras on back with OIS and 2X optical zoom

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phablet is expected to feature a dual-camera system in back. A report published Monday out of South Korea gives us some more information about the two camera module expected to be found on the back of the unit. While many have expected Samsung to deploy two 12MP sensors, Monday’s report states that an optical 12MP dual-image pixel sensor and a telephoto 13MP sensor will be placed on the back of the phablet. Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom starts receiving Android 7.0 Nougat update

The ZenFone 3 Zoom is one of Asus’ biggest disappointments this year since there are still many major markets where the smartphone is not yet available. Also, the device was launched earlier this year, but it’s still running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Well, at least the last part will soon be addressed, as Asus has just announced that it has started the Android 7.0 Nougat deployment. All ZenFone 3 Zoom owners should get the Android 7.0 Nougat update in the coming days.

Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom could be launched in Europe in July as ZenFone Zoom S

The ZenFone 3 Zoom had a troubled launch since its official unveil back in January. The mid-range smartphone aimed at photographers was initially launched in Asia, but its release in North America so that Asus can improve its specs.

However, since that didn’t happen, Asus decided to offer the ZenFone 3 Zoom in the U.S. at a much lower price: $329 instead of $399.

Unlike the U.S. version of ZenFone 3 Zoom that packs 3GB RAM, the European model will be getting 4GB RAM inside. Because of that, the smartphone will be available for purchase for around €470 outright.
