Sony Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact specs and price info leaked out

Two of Sony’s high-end smartphones will be much less expensive than Samsung’s upcoming flagships, the Galaxy S9 and S9+, at least according to a new report coming from Sweden.

The most expensive of the two Sony upcoming handsets, the Xperia XZ2 is said to boast a large 5.7-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating and 18:9 aspect ratio. As expected, the phone will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory.

The slightly cheaper and much smaller model, the Xperia XZ2 Compact has a similar hardware under the chassis, but a 5-inch display …

Sony may announce three Snapdragon 660-powered Xperia phones at MWC 2018

We’re a little bit more than two weeks away from Sony’s MWC 2018 press conference, but news about the Japanese company’s upcoming Xperia phones have already made headlines in the last couple of months.

A lot of Sony fans are probably interested to see what the next Xperia flagship looks like, but more will buy the company’s mid-range smartphones. In that regard, it’s worth noting that Sony is readying not one, but three Xperia handsets that can easily go as mid-tier phones.

We only know them by their model numbers since this is how they have been listed at Geekbench, the popular benchmarking …

Sony's upcoming Xperia XZ2 Compact may have just popped up online

Despite the fact that Sony usually introduces new Xperia Compact smartphones in the second half of the year, a certain Xperia XZ2 Compact model has just appeared in a live picture next to a Xperia Z5 Compact.

Although it’s just a prototype unit, we can’t help but wonder whether or not Sony plans to reveal the new compact smartphone later this year at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. The person who leaked the picture claims the final design of the Xperia XZ2 Compact may look different than what we’re seeing here, which is quite understandable considering this is just a prototype unit.

If you’re buying your XA2 Ultra from Focus Camera, you’ll be receiving a free pair of Sony MDR-XB510AS in-ear headphones. Normally priced at $59, these headphones feature extra bass, and are water-resistant – which means you can wear them when working …

Xperia XZ2 Pro spotted in HTML benchmark, long display reaffirmed

For a while now, we’ve been hearing whispers that Sony might just be jumping on the 18:9 bandwagon, joining the ranks of extra-wide, thin-bezeled phones with its next flagships. Well, now, we have a reiteration of that rumor through an alleged benchmark listing, which seems to spill some details about an Xperia XZ2 Pro.

First and foremost, the screengrab shows us that the new phone is running Android 8.1 Oreo. Then, we get a section saying “Screen size: 424 x 848 px”. Now, we doubt this is the actual screen resolution the phone would ship with — who knows what happened there — but …

Sony Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra Review

Looking at sales, Sony hasn’t been tremendously successful in the smartphone business, yet it’s one of the few major players to remain consistent with its devices, and this has to count for something. The Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra are two of the latest well-rounded, mid-range phones that Sony has in tow for the US market. Both come with the promises of long battery life and spectacular camera performance, and no less importantly, they’re among the first Xperia handsets to have functional fingerprint scanners on board – a feature that has been missing from US-bound Sony phones until now. But …

The official Carnival Theme for Sony Xperia smartphones now up for download

If you’re an Xperia smartphone (or tablet) user, Sony Mobile has another surprise for you. In celebration of the Rio Janeiro Carnival happening in Brazil as we speak, the Japanese handset maker released a new Xperia Theme for the event.

Dubbed Xperia Carnival Theme, the asset is now available for download from Google Play Store. It requires Android 5.0 and above, as well as an Xperia device as well (obviously). You’ll notice that many of the visual aspects of your Xperia handset will change once you install the theme, including the lockscreen, status bar, folder icon, action bar and wallpaper.

A mysterious Sony Xperia XZ2 is reportedly launching "soon"

Sony will be hosting a press event later this month at MWC 2018, and we’re expecting the company to announce an Xperia XZ Pro then. But this is probably not the only new handset that the company is getting ready to unveil come late February.
According to a tweet sent out by Three Ireland (one of the main Irish mobile operators), a mysterious Sony Xperia XZ2 is “coming soon.” The tweet was sent on February 2, but it’s been deleted – this likely means the folks at Three Ireland realized the Xperia XZ2 is an unannounced phone that shouldn’t have been mentioned.  …
