Deal: Save $70 on the unlocked Sony Xperia XZ at B&H

Although it’s not really a good idea to go on a shopping spree just a few weeks before Black Friday, there may be some good deals out there that won’t available anymore at the end of the month.

If you’re looking for a mid-range smartphone that costs less than $350, the Xperia XZ is a solid choice if you don’t want to wait until next week for better deals on other brands.

Sony Xperia XZ (F8331) is now on sale at B&H for $70 off, so you’ll be paying $305. An almost 20% discount on the last year flagship is decent enough, especially that it brings the …

New Sony Xperia XZ Premium update fixes camera sensor issues, adds November security patch

The Xperia XZ Premium is the first Sony smartphone to have received the Android 8.0 Oreo update, but other devices are expected to follow soon. However, the update contained a fix for a known camera issue that brought another problem with the camera.

Although it addressed the Xperia XZ Premium camera distortion issues, Android 8.0 Oreo broke the camera sensor’s functionality, which meant that the RGBC-IR and ToF (Laser AF) features were not working within the parameters.

In other words, most of the pictures captured with the Xperia XZ Premium were blurry …

Alluring red Sony Xperia XZ Premium now available in the US

Launched in Japan last month, the red version of Sony’s
Xperia XZ Premium can now be bought in the US, where Amazon is selling it
unlocked alongside the phone’s other three color variants (black, chrome, and
pink – all available since June).

It doesn’t look like the red (or rosso) Xperia XZ Premium that’s sold
in the US
comes with Android 8 Oreo out of the box, instead running Android 7 Nougat. In
any case, the handset should receive an Oreo update pretty soon.

Alluring color aside, Sony’s new red smartphone doesn’t
differ from the other color variants of the Xperia XZ Premium. …

Deal: Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra is $100 (25% off) cheaper on Amazon

The Xperia XA1 Ultra made its debut on the market back in May, but it reached US shores slightly later. It’s a high-end smartphone that’s likely to be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo next year, and one that we’ve already reviewed and found it good enough.

If you think Sony’s Xperia XA1 Ultra would be suitable as your primary smartphone, then you might want to take into consideration Amazon’s promotion.

For a limited time, the unlocked Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra 32GB is on sale at Amazon for just $300, exactly 25% cheaper than the MSRP. Basically, you can save $100 …

Deal: Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact now costs $505 (or $549 with a $50 Best Buy gift card included)

About a month after making its US debut, the Sony Xperia XZ1
Compact – one of the world’s first smartphones to run Android 8 Oreo out of the
box – is now almost $100 cheaper.

Amazon is currently offering the Xperia XZ1 Compact starting
at $504.99 – $95 off the phone’s launch price ($599.99). Only the black version
of the XZ1 Compact is available for $504.99, while the other three color
verstions – pink, blue, silver – cost $549.99.

Best Buy is discounting the Xperia XZ1 Compact, too, selling
the phone for $549.99, regardless of color. Best Buy is throwing in a $50 gift
card …

Sony Mobile is among the first smartphone brands to provide Android 8.0 Oreo to one of its products, the Xperia XZ Premium. However, if you don’t own Sony’s flagship, you probably wonder when exactly your phone will receive the highly-anticipated update.

For that matter, Sony Mobile wanted to give fans a heads up on when they can expect to receive a major Android update on their Xperia phones, chronologically speaking.

An infographic posted on Sony’s official blog explains the process of bringing a new Android update to Xperia devices. We get to learn how Android software moves from …

Deal: Unlocked Sony Xperia XZ drops to just $315 on Amazon and B&H

Last month, one of Sony’s older flagship smartphones, namely the Xperia XZ was on sale at Amazon for $400. Considering the phone was launched in the United States last year for $700, we thought that was a pretty good deal for Sony fans.

One month later, Amazon and B&H have decided the Xperia XZ must be put on sale once again, but for an even lower price. Starting this weekend, Sony Xperia XZ can be had for just $315 at either of the two US retailers.

The unlocked model comes with US warranty, but it will only work on GSM carriers in the country (so no …

Stunning in Red: "Rosso" Sony Xperia XZ Premium might soon be available near you

The Xperia XZ Premium is getting a stylish new color variant. Sony refers to the hue as “Rosso”, which means “red” in Italian.
A red XZ Premium was actually first spotted back in May when it appeared on Chinese website Weibo. Sony gave no indication that such a version was coming at the time, and made things official less than seven days ago.
Last week, Docomo, Japan’s largest carrier, confirmed that it will start selling the Rosso XZ Premium on October 27th, leading some to believe …

Deal: Unlocked Sony Xperia X Compact is on sale at Best Buy for $280 (30% off)

The Xperia X Compact is one of the many Sony smartphones that will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo. We’re not sure how much popular the handset is among Android fans, but the Xperia X Compact seems a bit overpriced at nearly $400.

Having a 4.6-inch display with HD (720p) resolution doesn’t help either. On the bright side, the phone boasts an impressive 23-megapixel rear-facing camera and a decent hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor.

If you’ve been looking for a mid-end Xperia smartphone, one that would not force you to break the bank, then you might …
