Yahoo Mail not working for many on iOS, but a fix is in the works

Soon after Apple released iOS 11, many iPhone and iPad users have started to experience issues accessing their emails via Yahoo. These problems have become more serious lately and many iOS users can use Yahoo Mail any longer.

A few days ago, Yahoo issued an official statement acknowledging these issues and promising a fix very soon. Also, the company offered iOS users a workaround that will allow them to continue to use the Yahoo email service.

We are aware that some Yahoo Mail users are currently seeing issues when accessing their emails through a Mail app. We apologize to those …

Nokia 8 Pro with Snapdragon 845 and a penta-lens camera might be in the works

A “pro” version of the Nokia 8 is reportedly in the works, powered by the speedy Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and sporting five cameras at the rear. Yes, five.

According to NokiaPowerUser, HMD Global, the parent company behind the rekindled use of the beloved Nokia brand, could be preparing a more advanced version of its current flagship and we might theoretically see this one at MWC 2018 though the device is allegedly prepped for an August-September release. As a reminder, Nokia will attend the important trade show in Barcelona, Spain, and will host a keynote event on February …

Is this even possible? Nokia smartphone with penta-lens camera in the works

The only reason I’m writing about this is that if anyone would be able to pull off something like this, it would definitely be Nokia, or in this case, HMD Global. Some of you probably remember that six years ago Nokia stunned the smartphone industry with the unveiling of world’s first phone to boast an incredible 41-megapixel camera – the Nokia 808 PureView.

Well, it appears that the Finnish company (HMD Global) is now working to bring another amazing device to the market – one that would include a penta-lens camera. Basically, that’s a camera that features five lenses, something very similar …

"You will not be disappointed": Sony official might have teased that a 4K OLED Xperia is in the works

Just recently, we heard the rather too-good-to-be-true rumor that Sony might launch a certain Xperia flagship with a 4K OLED display in tow, which is unheard of on the mobile scene. A recent rumor based around a leaked spec sheet detailing the rumored Sony Xperia XZ Pro has been the originator of this speculation. Some job listings as well as a Sony official have recently poured more oil into the fire hinting that Sony is actively exploring the idea of 4K OLEDs and could theoretically surprise everyone soon.

“All I can say is that we are investing money in OLED displays. And very soon …

The FCC has approved a new type of wireless charging system for the first time. Unlike other wireless charging systems, this will power up batteries as far as 3-feet away. A company named Energous, developer of the WattUp wireless charging at-a-distance technology, has received FCC approval for its transmitter. Pixel phones are getting smarter by the day. A Google Product Manager recently announced that the tech giant has introduced a neat new feature to its handsets. It’s called “Smart Battery”, and it aims to provide Pixel users with personalized battery life estimates.
In order to understand how Smart Battery works, let’s take a look at the way these estimates were made in the past. Let’s say that you’ve used your Pixel device for several hours. If you drained an average of 10% of your battery per hour for that period of time, the old system would …

Is the YouTube app killing your iPhone battery? A fix is in the works

There are some doors left open wide in the YouTube client on iOS 11, as plenty of users have taken to the interwebs to complain that their iPhones and iPads updated to the latest version of Apple’s mobile OS, are experiencing heat and power consumption issues with it. Depending on whose complaint you listen to, the battery goes down 20% in fifteen minutes to half an hour of watching video, which, by all counts, sounds pretty terrible.

Not only that, but the iPhones apparently get rather hot and bothered when the YouTube app is running, indicating …

The Razer Phone has an awesome 120Hz display, and here's how it works

Razer made headlines this week with the announcement of a new product (whose list of design features somehow lacks an array of rainbow-colored LED lights). The Razer Phone, as it is called, is essentially a phone made with high performance in mind – one built around top-notch hardware specs a passionate mobile gamer would demand. One component in particular – that 5.7-inch “UltraMotion” display – makes Razer’s first phone unique and even more worthy of attention than it already is.
