Pegatron, one of the contract manufacturers used by Apple to assemble the iPhone, warned today that demand for the Apple iPhone 8 could be weak during the first quarter of 2018. The company said that it often experiences a seasonal slowdown during the start of a new year. Jeff Pu, an analyst at Yuanta Investment Consulting, predicts that Apple will slash orders for the iPhone 8 by 50% during the first quarter. Pegatron produces the iPhone 8 while Foxconn assembles the iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X. Apple contributes 60% of Pegatron’s revenue and is the company’s top customer.
