Of course Kendrick Lamar takes home the Video of the Year award at the 2017 VMAs

Kendrick Lamar and the stunning visuals for his single “HUMBLE” took home the coveted Video of the Year award at this year’s MTV VMA awards. It’s the fifth award the video has received tonight.

Lamar’s “HUMBLE” beat out a slew of stars who had to sit down and be humble in the presence of the G.O.A.T.—including Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic,” Alessia Cara’s “Scars to Your Beautiful,” DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, and The Weeknd’s “Reminder.”

He accepted the award from Wonder Woman‘s Gal Gadot and gave a sweet but brief thank you to fans and the folks behind the video.  Read more…

New LG V30 teaser video promises "immersive sound"

Samsung may be making headlines these days (thanks to the announcement of its Galaxy Note 8), but LG doesn’t want us to forget that it’s also getting ready to announce a new high-end smartphone: the V30. Thus, the company today released yet another teaser video, this time touting the “immersive sound” that the LG V30 will apparently bring (though there are no details on exactly what that means).

A recent rumor had it that the V30 would feature Bang & Olufsen audio enhancements, so we’re looking forward to seeing if that’s indeed the case. As you may know, …

HTC U11 gets new update, 1080p 60FPS video recording on board

A new update has started rolling out for the HTC U11. Coming in at about 663MB, the software upgrade should bump the software version to 1.27.400.9

There’s a nice new functionality aboard the latest update – users will be able to record 1080p 60FPS video clips after they install it. HTC vowed to include the feature earlier this year, so it’s nice to see the company fulfill its promise. Also included is the Android security patch for the month of August, as well as a bunch of system improvements which aren’t specified.

Google releases video showing how Android Oreo's statue was created

Android 8.0 Oreo is the next version of Android, despite previous rumors stating otherwise. As with each new iteration of the mobile platform launched, Google places a big, nice mascot in front of its Mountain View headquarters that represents that version of Android.

The recent launch was no exception and Android Oreo has its own statue that’s been built in much secrecy by the artists that Google chose. A video that goes through all the manufacturing process of the statue and its unveiling has been recently published by Google.

It appears that the status …

BlackBerry shows you how to use the KEYone's physical keyboard to manually adjust the camera (VIDEO)

The BlackBerry KEYone’s physical QWERTY keyboard is one of the best ever attached to a smartphone. Not only does it make typing fun again once you get the hang of it, the KEYone QWERTY also doubles as a trackpad and each letter can be used for two shortcuts. Saying that this is the most versatile keyboard ever found on a handset would be an understatement. And today, a new video released by BlackBerry Mobile shows you how to manually adjust the camera using the keys on the physical QWERTY keyboard.

With the manual mode, you can use the KEYone QWERTY to focus, adjust the white balance, …

Concept video by Mi MIX 2 designer Philippe Starck could be a preview of the actual phone

A 38 second video made by designer Philippe Starck and posted on social media could be giving us an advance look at the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2. While this is a concept video, keep in mind that the man who made the concept is the actual designer of the first Mi MIX and is the official designer of the sequel. You can see how there is practically nothing to see in the way of bezels on both sides and at the top of the display. At bottom is a “chin” that is about half the size as the one on the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Speaking of the bottom bezel, Starck leaves the front-facing camera right where …

OnePlus 5 video stabilization update demoed in new official video

When OnePlus released its latest “flagship killer” back in June, fans were disgruntled to find out that it lacks an optical image stabilization module — something that its predecessors, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, actually had. To top it off, there was no software stabilization for 4K video recording, which resulted in shaky, nausea-inducing clips. Well, about a week ago, the manufacturer finally issued an update, which adds electronic stabilization to the OnePlus 5. It has now also released a short video clip, showing us a quick before and after.

The clip is …

LG shows how it made the V30 wallpapers in behind-the-scenes video

Here’s a question: last time you bought a new phone, did you pay any attention to its stock wallpaper? Chances are you didn’t — either you’re the type of person who immediately changes it to something of their own liking, or the one which couldn’t care less about something as superficial as a wallpaper.

That, however, hasn’t stopped companies’ in-house design teams from pouring hours of work into devices’ wallpapers — after all, they’re the de facto face of a device across most of its marketing materials, which makes them pretty important, …

Video previews will now appear in Google search results on Android

Great news for Android users, as Google has just announced it has improved its search app on mobile devices powered by its platform. Video previews should appear on Android devices when you search for something.

The new feature is available starting today on the Google app for Android and Chrome on Android, so expect to see video previews when video results show up in the video carousel in the same manner that text snippets appear when you search for texts.

According to Google, these video previews will only play when your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network. Keep in mind …
