Another canceled Microsoft Lumia smartphone gets shown off in hands-on video

Microsoft’s mobile division is a thing of the past, but many Windows Phone fans still own some of the handsets the Redmond-based company launched on the market in 2015 or 2016. However, since it decided to sell its mobile business to HMD Global, Microsoft had to cut some of the phones it planned to release at some point.

Two Lumia smartphones that were leaked previous to their official announcement had been canceled: Lumia 750 and Lumia 850. Both mid-range handsets were very close to being released, but for some reason, Microsoft decided that it’s not worth the …

Today is your last chance to get unlimited streaming HD video from T-Mobile One for no extra cost

Back in February, Verizon announced its long awaited return to unlimited data. With unlimited video streaming at 720p (HD), Big Red had topped the 480p (DVD quality) resolution that T-Mobile One was streaming unlimited video at. In order to match Verizon, T-Mobile One was upgraded to include T-Mobile One Plus for free. That meant that video on T-Mobile One was now streaming unlimited at 720p (like Verizon), and users could have 10GB of 4G LTE hot spot connectivity.

But T-Mobile’s promotion is coming to an end at the close of business today. Starting April 7th (that’s tomorrow), if you want …

Google's CBO Schindler blames the media for putting YouTube's video content issue on the front page

In the U.S., the media is getting beat up. Even Google is accusing the press of making a mountain out of a molehill. Firms like AT&T, Verizon and Walmart have been canceling their ads on Google owned YouTube because they have discovered that their spots are being placed before videos with racist and bigoted content. Companies like the nation’s first and second largest carriers do not want to be associated with videos promoting hatred and violence.

Considering that these ads generate a ton of dough for Google, the company had to nip this in the bud. Google’s chief business officer, …

You can fool that Galaxy! Video shows Galaxy S8's face recognition bypassed by photo

Although it likely won’t end up the disaster of galactic proportions that was the fiery Galaxy Note 7, the new Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus already seem to be raising some concerns.

A new video popped up on the interwebs, showing a Galaxy S8 seemingly getting fooled by a high-res picture of the face it’s supposed to scan in real-life. A person uses a Galaxy S8 to try and bypass the face recognition of another Galaxy S8, and after a few tries, he succeeds in unlocking the device and gets past the lock screen. Ouch!

As a reminder, Samsung introduced a new face recognition security …

T-Mobile says data speeds will double for some customers using the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ (VIDEO)

T-Mobile used today’s unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ to announce that some subscribers upgrading to these new phones will be able to double their LTE data speeds on T-Mobile’s network. With the faster speeds, a two-hour movie can be downloaded in just 15-seconds. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are the first handsets to take advantage of three technologies already built into the T-Mobile network.

These three technologies include 4 x 4 MIMO, which adds more connections between a cell tower and a Galaxy S8/S8+. Carrier aggregation increases the bandwidth and …

LG video shows off some UX 6.0 features on the LG G6

A video directly from LG shows off some of the features on LG G6’s UX 6.0. For example, with the 18:9 aspect ratio of the screen and multiwindow support, two side by side apps  are each seen as perfect squares. The new aspect ratio leaves the screen looking like two boxes stacked on top of each other. According to LG, square plus square equals a taller, wider and broader screen, which fills the entire display. LG aptly calls this “FullVision.”

Features on the camera include Grid Shot. This combines four pictures or videos into a collage. Match Shot combines two pictures or videos …

A Samsung Galaxy S8+ dummy unit poses for a detailed hands-on video

Another day, another Galaxy S8 leak: this time around, we have a detailed hands-on video with an all-black dummy unit of the device’s larger variant, the S8+, offering us a glimpse of its gargantuan proportions.

In a parallel universe such a leak would’ve been huge news, as it details the device’s size (with a ruler!), shows it from a huge amount of angles, and describes its button placement, including the extra one on the left side of the phone, as well as the fingerprint scanner placed right next to the rear camera lens. But this isn’t exactly the …
