Official video teases Lenovo's IFA 2017 lineup, but there are no surprises

Lenovo is always present at two major European tech events, MWC (Mobile World Congress and IFA), but we’ve rarely seen the Chinese company launching new flagships at these trade fairs.

In any case, every time Lenovo’s booth at these exhibitions is quite large and we don’t doubt that will be the case at IFA 2017 too. However, this time Lenovo released a video that shows what IFA attendees will be able to see and try starting early September.

Lenovo’s Mirage Mixed Reality headset appears to be at the center of the video, but other products like the Lenovo …

Samsung teases the Note 8 event with a “Do bigger things” video

It’s been almost a month since Samsung sent out an invitation for its Unpacked event to be held on the 23rd of August. The image back then depicted a Galaxy Note 8 silhouette with an S Pen pointing towards it. Pretty obvious who the star of the event is going to be, right?

Now, Sammy has posted a video on its YouTube channel, basically teasing the Note 8 further. The clip basically throws a number of inspirational words like “leap”, “innovate”, and “bigger” at us, then finishes up with the same silhouette from the invitation. The supplied text reminds us of the …

Stop whatever you're doing and check out OnePlus 5's Lake Blood gory and fun video ad

Pennywise will be terrorizing a new generation of the Losers’ Club come September and we’d be treated to a rather unexpected follow-up to the gory story of the Jigsaw killer, but the list of horror-y flicks just grew as OnePlus joined the fray.

As much as we’d love to throw $10 on tickets for a OnePlus-produced horror movie with Emily Ratajkowski cast as the lead antagonist, hacking her way through a pack of sophomore college students with a rusted hatchet, we will have to settle for the short but rather amusing and self-aware video ad for the OnePlus …

OnePlus 5 gets 4K video stabilization in OxygenOS 4.5.8 update: before and after, and comparison with iPhone 7

The OnePlus 5 is an excellent all-around phone for a great under $500 price: it’s got the top level Snapdragon 835 system chip, a well-running clean Android interface and even a dual camera. What it lacks is proper stabilization in videos… well, we should rather say ‘lacked’. With the latest OnePlus 5 update (OxygenOS 4.5.8), the company brings the missing 4K electronic image stabilization (EIS) that makes 4K videos much more enjoyable to watch.
It took OnePlus two months to bring this update, but now that it’s here, it makes a big difference. …

New HTC U11 update featuring support for Bluetooth 5.0 and 60 fps video recording rolling out now

Good news for customers who purchased the HTC U11, as the Taiwanese handset maker has just announced a new update is now available for download. The update is supposed to bring a few new features that weren’t available in the HTC U11 at launch, such as improved video recording and connectivity features.

If you don’t remember, we reported last month that HTC U11 could get support for Bluetooth 5.0 in a future update. Earlier this week, news about HTC enabling 60 FPS video recording (1080p) for the U11 emerged as well.

Today, HTC Taiwan confirmed that a new firmware is now being pushed …

An Phone 8 and 7s Plus mockups get sized up on video, shiny glass backs and all

An iPhone 7s Plus and iPhone 8 walk into a bar, and the resulting fight is between the legacy Apple design that millions of people are accustomed to and don’t want changed much (for example, having a home Touch ID button), and the future of the company’s handsets. The iPhone 8 will allegedly prime Apple fans for what’s coming down the pipe – edgeless OLED screen handsets with multiple cameras and 3D sensors ready for the AR era – while the 7s and 7s Plus will aim to make the transition smoother.

That’s not to say that the 7s and 7s Plus won’t get …

Instagram starts testing Live Video Sharing for subscribers

Starting on Tuesday, Instagram subscribers were able to test out the latest new feature for Instagram. This new feature allows you to share a live video stream with a friend who becomes part of your broadcast. You can decide when your guest is ready to leave, or that decision could be left up to the guest. If something comes up that warrants an immediate end to your broadcasting day, tap on the word “Discard” and your signal cuts out immediately, leaving you as relevant as “Glee.”

After wrapping up your live feed, you have the choice of adding the final product to Stories, or placing the …

How do I camera: Samsung releases its own video series with camera tips and tricks for the Galaxy S8

Some months ago, Apple launched a “How to shoot on iPhone 7” series of videos, which were supposedly meant to teach users how to achieve magic with the cameras on their brand-new iPhones. However, the tips were quite basic and the videos, albeit well-made, were something to the tune of “Open camera, tap the white circle, congratulations!”.

Still, exposure to features, which not every user might know off the bat is a good way to have consumers crave your device that much more. Which is probably why Samsung is well on track with its own “Galaxy S8 camera tips” series, which currently holds …

New HTC U11 software update will enable 60 FPS video recording "over the next couple of months"

Lately, we’ve been hearing a lot about a major software update that the HTC U11 is bound to receive. Now, HTC is officially confirming that an update is indeed coming soon, although it doesn’t mention all the new features that are rumored to be included in it – like support for Bluetooth 5.0, or sRGB screen mode. Nevertheless, HTC can confirm that the U11 will gain support for 60 FPS (frames per second) video recording.

HTC says that the update enabling 60 FPS video recording “will be rolling out over the next couple of months to devices everywhere.” As you can …

YouTube for Android rolls out speed controls for video playback on some devices

One of the special features that YouTube reserves for its desktop version only is speed controls: being able to speed up or slow down a video is especially useful for those trying to learn moves from videos, or just looking for those tiny details that are not easily noticeable.
Now, YouTube seems to be mulling adding speed controls to its mobile application. 9to5Google has noticed the option to select video speed on YouTube for Android, version 12.29.57, but the option is not yet available to everyone out there (we don’t have it yet).
The …
