Samsung Galaxy S8+ unboxing: hello, gorgeous!

Frankly, I’m not a fan of Mondays. Getting up early in the morning to go to work after the weekend just isn’t what I’d call fun. Which begs the question: why did I arrive at the office before anyone else this morning? Well, because a Samsung Galaxy S8+ was waiting for me in the mailbox – packed in a pretty white Samsung-branded gift bag.
Since the team and I haven’t spent enough time with the Galaxy S8+, we cannot deliver a full, in-depth review. These take considerable amount of testing and hands-on time to produce. However, we’re perfectly …

And it’s just landed in our office! This means it’s time to quickly unbox it to see what is inside this minimalistic white Samsung box and take a first look at the phone itself.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ Unboxing

Our time yesterday was spent mainly at Samsung’s Unpacked event in New York City, where they unveiled its two newest phablet smartphones. On one end, we have the Galaxy Note5, which is arguably still the king phablet in the space. And on the other, we have the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, a super-sized edition of the S6 edge that was announced earlier in the year.

The kind folks over at FedEx promptly dropped off the Galaxy S6 edge+, so there’s always time for an unboxing right before all of the extensive testing we put these phones through. In typical fashion, the packaging follows after the S6 edge before it – a minimalist box with no pictures or images plastered on it. Rather, we’re just given the phone’s name and a mini-sized specs sheet listing on the back of the box.

Opening it for the first time, our eyes feast on the plastic wrapped Galaxy S6 edge+. Removing it, we find a SIM tray tool beneath it, while the usual set of accessories are found in the last layer of the box. They consist of the rapid charging wall charger, microUSB cable, a pair of Samsung stereo headphones, and the usual set of documentation. This particular setup is nothing new, as it’s rather conventional and doesn’t bring anything relatively new to the in-box experience.

Either way, we’ll be putting the phone through some extensive testing – while also trying to see how meaningful are the new features in the greater scheme of things. Anyway, don’t forget to check out our unboxing video below and expect our in-depth review soon!

Xiaomi Mi Note Pro Unboxing

It’s a rare occurrence for DHL to come knocking at our door asking for our signature for a package, but when that happens, we know that whatever it is traveled a long way to get to us. Well, that’s the case today as we finally got in the super-spec’d Xiaomi Mi Note Pro – a phablet that challenges Samsung’s long standing Note series. Over here in the US, its presence is hardly realized by consumers, but overseas, it’s surely garnering momentum.

Right from the onset, we can certainly tell you that the box for the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro is ginormous. That’s necessary, of course, when it’s accommodating such a gigantic sized phone in the inside. There are no pictures or images of the handset in question anywhere on the box, but rather, there’s only the small “MI” logo on the front – while the rear lays claim to a few of its notable specs.

Diving deeper into the packaging, there’s nothing out of the ordinary from what it seems. It contains the usual suspect of things, so that consists of the documentation, microUSB cable, and wall charger. That’s all! Even though some might find the included stuff lacking, we’re not all to shocked because of it lower cost than some other similarly spec’d smartphones. What’s outstanding is that the phone can be fetched for around $480, which is incredible given its high-end specs and all.

Beyond that, we’ll be putting the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro through the usual barrage of testing we perform on all our phones, so you can expect our in-depth review soon!
