Samsung brought 'almost finished' foldable Galaxy X to CES, 7.3" display in tow

Where there is smoke, there is probably fire, and we’ve been hearing about Samsung’s foldable phone in the last two days more than in the last two months. Turns out that Samsung has actually brought the phone, and showcased it to interested partners at the CES 2018 expo. Granted, Samsung has done this at the previous CES, too, but now the phone looked “almost finished,” tipped insiders, at least from a hardware standpoint, and ready for mass production in November.
Samsung brought both infolding and outfolding prototypes, but will likely retail the infolding type, …

While we were musing yesterday whether the upcoming LG G7 will sport a Snapdragon 835 or 845 chipset, based on its official listing on LG’s UK website under the Quick Charge 4.0 category, a Korean publication is spilling the beans on its specs and even release date.

It turns out that the G7 may ship with Snapdragon 845, after all, which would be a huge jump from the 821 in the G6, but there are plenty of other novelties to look forward to. The sources claim that, in addition, G7 will sport 6GB RAM, shooting it directly into the flagship ranks where it belongs. Another nice …

Samsung reportedly scores Apple’s chip business back, 7nm A12 processor in tow

The glory days for the TSMC chip foundry may be over soon, if a new report out of Korea is to be believed. TSMC became the sole supplier of Apple’s A-series processors in 2013, and never looked back. This year, it has been tasked with producing the 10nm Apple A11 chipsets, and the expected upgrade super cycle brought on by the iPhone 8, has shot the TSMC shares into the stratosphere, making its founder a billionaire in the process.
That sweet deal with Apple may be coming to an end, a Korean publication tips, as Samsung has eventually won back Apple’s chip business. …

Motorola Moto E4 Plus surfaces, 5000mAh juicer in tow

Earlier this month, we all were flabbergasted and astounded when the FCC documentation for the Motorola Moto E4 Plus revealed that the phone would carry a 5000mAh battery. While Motorola has shoehorned high capacity batteries into past DROID models, this would be the largest battery every carried by a Motorola handset eclipsing the 3900mAh cell found on the Motorola DROID Turbo. And the Moto E4 Plus, unlike the DROID Turbo, is far from being a flagship model.

Images of the Moto E4 Plus were discovered today, and one picture shows that the back cover is removable. This would allow users …
