Starting tomorrow, fixing a cracked screen is only $29 via Verizon's Total Mobile Protection plan

Drop your phone and shatter the screen? As our high school English Literature professor might have said, “That’s sad. That’s too bad, but it is not a tragedy. A tragedy is a Greek play.” Actually, thanks to a sizeable 41% price cut, Verizon is now charging only $29 to repair a screen at 296 locations in the country. Or, you can have the repair done in your home or office in more than 150 U.S. cities. Certainly no tragedy, it is actually no more than a hiccup.

To take advantage of that low price for a screen repair, you must be a member of Verizon’s Total Mobile Protection plan. Starting …

You can go hands-on with a Google Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL if you visit a Verizon store tomorrow

While both the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have been
available to pre-order since last week, they’re still days, or even weeks away
from shipping. Thankfully, if you want to see and feel the two handsets in the
flesh, you will be able to do so tomorrow, October 12, thanks to Verizon.

According to Scott Charlston, Public Relations Manager at
Verizon Wireless, you can “get a hands-on preview” of Google’s latest
smartphones if you “head to your nearest Verizon store on 10/12.”
This likely means that you’ll be able to find a new Pixel in most (if not all) Verizon stores across the US.

Cook: Our products are not only for the rich; analyst sees big drop in Apple's stock after tomorrow

Some people complain that Apple manufacturers devices for the rich and wealthy, and that as a result, they are priced out of purchasing Apple products. But if you ask Apple CEO Tim Cook, he will disagree. Speaking to Fortune, Cook points out that an Apple iPad and an Apple iPhone can be purchased for less than $300 each.  “And so these are not for the rich,” said the executive. The Chief Executive also pointed out that with an active installed base of over 1 billion products, Apple couldn’t be manufacturing just for the rich since there aren’t that many rich people in the world. Cook also …

Rogers BlackBerry KEYone receives update starting tomorrow; focus is on bugs, not security

A leaked internal document reveals that starting tomorrow, July 17th, the Rogers branded version of the BlackBerry KEYone will receive an update. Unlike other handsets in the Rogers family that are receiving updates tomorrow (such as the Moto G4 Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+), the new files being sent to the KEYone are related to bug fixes instead of security.

The issues that need to be addressed by the update are apparently related to the Rogers’ network. Early last month, several Rogers subscribers complained about their inability to receive incoming phone …

The Xiaomi Mi 6 will most likely be unveiled tomorrow (Update: Nope, April 19)

Update: We seem to have fallen victim to the hype machine. It wasn’t the Mi 6 that was unveiled today, but rather just its release date – April 19, and we sincerely apologize for the confusion. Apart from that, however, we do have a couple of new tidbits of information: TechDroider claims that the Mi 6 will not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and the phone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 835 SoC only. You can see the official teaser for the event, as well as the original text of the article, below.

As a result of its …
