iOS 11 release date and time around the globe: Here's when you're getting it (Update: It's today!)

Just short of a week ago during Apple’s largest keynote for 2017, it was officially announced that after months of beta tests and releases, iOS 11 will arrive to all eligible devices (iPhone 5s and newer, iPad mini 2 and newer, iPod 6th-gen.) on September 19, which is tomorrow.

When are you getting it though? Well, as is tradition, we expect Apple to release the update around 10AM Pacific Time, which is the regular time window for new iOS updates. There’s no reason for Apple to deviate from this well-established pattern right now, so expect iOS 11 …

You can honor Heather Heyer and other Charlottesville heroes starting today

TwitterFacebook

Heather Heyer, a 32-year-old Virginia native, died tragically on Saturday in an incident that has since been described widely as an act of domestic terrorism.

Heyer and thousands of others protesters converged on Charlottesville, Virginia as seemingly every flavor of racist gathered this weekend for a “Unite the Right” rally. And now, one day later, the anti-hate movement across the U.S. is stepping up to gather again, this time in solidarity.

Starting on Saturday night and continuing through Sunday, organized vigils will give distant observers an opportunity to come together and pay tribute to the heroes of Charlottesville. The intent, according to The Indivisible Project, is to “[stand in] solidarity with our brave friends in Charlottesville who put themselves at risk to fight against hatred and white supremacy.” Read more…

Sometime today, we expect Sharp to officially introduce its new flagship model, the Sharp Aquos S2. The handset is equipped with a 5.5-inch edge-to-edge display carrying a 1080 x 2048 resolution, which means this is not the premium model with the 4k screen that we were looking forward to seeing this week. Instead, this is most likely model number FS8016, which is powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC. We expect the chipset to carry an octa-core 2.2GHz CPU.

Apparently, there will be different versions of the phone. One will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, while another model …
