Verizon and AT&T team up to lease new cell towers being built by a third party

The nation’s top two largest mobile carriers, Verizon and AT&T, are teaming up with Tillman Infrastructure to build hundreds of cell towers. Tillman will be building the towers to the specs requested by the two mobile operators, and both Verizon and AT&T have agreed to lease them. The structures will be built at locations where there are no cell towers at present, allowing the carriers to move some equipment off of existing towers and on to the new ones once they are built.

Apple and Nike team up for the launch of a limited edition Watch Series 3 with LTE

Apple and Nike have just announced a new partnership for the launch of limited edition Watch Series 3 with LTE. The new wearable device is called Midnight Fog and it’s supposed to match Nike’s new Air VaporMax running shoes that will be launched later this month.

The limited edition Nike Apple Watch Cellular will be available for purchase starting November 14 for $400 via Nike’s online, as well as brick and mortar stores. Customers interested in Nike’s new Midnight Fog Air VaporMax running shoes will be able to buy them on November 24.

Texas high-school players take a knee, get kicked off football team

Two Texas high-school football players stood with athletes across the country against police brutality and discrimination by protesting during the national anthem. Immediately after, they were told to hand in their uniforms. 

Sophomore Cedric Ingram-Lewis and his cousin Larry McCullough were kicked off their team at Victory & Praise Christian Academy, the Houston Chronicle reported. The pair didn’t play in the Friday night game for their private church-affiliated football program in the Houston suburb Crosby. 

Ingram-Lewis raised his fist during the anthem while McCullough took a knee. Coach Ronnie Mitchem kicked them off the team when the anthem ended.  Read more…

All four major U.S. carriers team up to form a task force on mobile authentication

All four major U.S. carriers are teaming up to form the Mobile Authentication Task Force. The goal is for the wireless operators to prevent identity theft by scanning data and analyzing patterns. This will be done in order to make sure that subscribers’ identities aren’t being stolen by people who plan on using them for illegal activities. The four carriers plan on using SIM card recognition, network-based device authentication and geo-location. This plan will go into effect next year to protect both consumers and businesses.
