Raymond James’ Apple analyst Tavis McCourt wrote a note to clients today. In his message, McCourt stated that the big supercycle that was supposed to pump up Apple’s revenue and profits thanks to the new innovative 2017 iPhone models, might not take place. But thanks to what he sees as strong Apple iPhone X demand, the analyst expects Apple to report higher earnings next year as the average selling price of the iPhone rises as much as 10% in 2018.

McCourt’s note includes some data not favorable to Apple. He says that 37% of iPhone owners plan to upgrade to a 2017 iPhone over the next 12 …

Wave7: Apple iPhone sales ride Sprint's BOGO to score strong June rebound in U.S.

According to analytical firm Wave7, Sprint’s BOGO promotion on leased Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus units have helped Apple score a strong June in U.S. sales. Apple’s chief rival, Samsung, benefited from a strong start for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+. The latter two handsets were the subject of a T-Mobile BOGO, but sales of the previous generation models (Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge) have dried up to the point that Samsung’s sales at physical retail locations in the states have been negatively affected.

Wave7 analyst Jeffrey Moore notes that Samsung’s …

Analyst: Apple to ship over 40 million iPhones this quarter due to strong interest

Times are good for Cupertino, as Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri believes Apple is going to have a big quarter, shipping as many as 41.5 million iPhones. Not only is this an indicator for strong retailer demand of Apple’s most financially important product, it would also mark an increase of over one million units shipped from the same quarter last year.

Arcuri, though, is careful to point out that the number of phones actually bought by customers could be going down. Despite this, retailers are as sure as ever in Apple’s ability to deliver desirable phones. On the topic of the upcoming …
