Samsung Galaxy S9 to run for a day and a half on a single charge, will sport front stereo speakers?

A Reddit user, who claimed to have had hands-on time with a  pre-production version of the Samsung Galaxy S9, posted an AMA (Ask Me Anything) thread on the social forum site the other day. He fielded questions related to the unit he played around with, noting that the model was “very close to production.” And while it might not mean anything, the fact that the thread was deleted could indicate that his story is legitimate and hit too close to home.

According to the lucky gentleman who allegedly was given 20 minutes to play around with the phone, the design looks very similar to last …

Stereo speakers reiterated for the Galaxy S9, along with '3D emoji'

Not that it will come as a huge surprise to our regular visitors, given that the alleged retail box of the Galaxy S9 already stated so, but Samsung’s spring flagship is again rumored to come with a dual stereo speaker set at long last by today’s freshest Korean media reports.

That is right, you will finally hear a flagship Galaxy S-line member thunder and roar when loaded with the newest Bruno Mars single! Besides the “tuned by AKG” earphones that the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 also have, the S9 is listed as sporting “stereo speakers,” which will again be… tuned by AKG, …

Apple HomePod smart speaker to launch without stereo sound and multi-room capabilities

After the holiday shopping season came to an end last month, Apple could only morn the missed opportunity it had to satiate the public’s demand for the hottest device in tech, the smart speaker. Apple originally planned to launch the HomePod in December, just in time to capture some holiday sales. But in November, Apple deemed the device “not ready for prime time,” and pushed back the release until early this year. As a result, both Amazon and Google grabbed the lion’s share of smart speaker sales during the holiday shopping season. Overall, 7% of gift boxes unwrapped this year contained a smart …

Rowkin Bit Charge Stereo headphones Review

Rowkin may not be a name you’re familiarized with, but the San Mateo based company has already amassed a diverse lineup of Bluetooth headphones and earbuds. With the Rowkin Bit Charge Stereo, it’s one of the many options out there trying to capitalize on the truly wireless headphones trend that has been maturing for the better part of last year. On paper, it seems promising with its discrete looks, accompanying dual-function charger, and MSRP of $129.99. As the good saying goes, good things come in small packages, but will the Rowkin Bit Charge Stereo yield any tangible …

No stereo recording on your new iPhone? MikMe will make your 4K videos sound professional, for a price

If there is a weak spot in Apple’s iPhone video recording abilities, even the latest “4K at 60fps” crop, it’s not the visuals, but rather the sound. While the iPhone has multiple mics for noise cancellation while on a call, the videos are still recorded with mono sound, long after most top-shelf Androids moved to stereo sound recording with an ever-increasing bitrate.

Enter MikMe, the company which has noticed this omission on part of Apple, and has swooped in with a classy external mic to remedy the situation. Its price is not, however, for the faint of heart, but the $499 tag may …

Plus one OnePlus 5 quirk: left and right audio channels get inverted in stereo recordings

In addition to lots of hardware muscle, the OnePlus 5 seems to have no shortage of weird usability problems, too. We have been reporting about shaky scrolling, loss of Wi-Fi signal reception (when holding the handset a particular way), and poor video stabilization. Now here’s another black mark – and it’s as strange as it can be!

During filming, when recording sound using the OnePlus 5’s built-in mic, holding the smartphone in landscape orientation with the Home button pointed left results in a stereo recording where the left and right audio channels are inverted. The effect is clearly …
