Cases spotted for Asus Zenfone AR could mean its U.S. release will be soon

A photo that shows an image of what appears to be a case for the Asus ZenFone AR could be a hint that we can expect the handset to be launched soon in the U.S. The device, which supports Google’s AR focused Project Tango, was unveiled in January at the CES in Las Vegas with 8GB of RAM (the first handset to carry such an amount), and three cameras including a 23MP primary snapper. Other cameras on the device track motion and depth. With the AR capabilities, the handset can create 3D indoor maps and much more.

Back in May, we told you that Verizon is expected to offer the handset this summer …

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 spotted in Samsung Exynos 9 teaser?

Strange things happen sometimes. Out of the blue, Samsung Exynos’ Twitter account posted this teaser image marketing the Exynos series 9 mobile application processors. From a distance, the phone you are seeing on it might seem like the Galaxy S8. Maybe it’s the angle, but looking at how the upper bezel is noticeably thinner, and the side bezel is basically non-existent, we can’t help but think that this is the Note 8, hidden in plain sight! The Galaxy s8 doesn’t really look like this, and neither does any other phone, for that matter.

Given that the Note 8 is reportedly …

New Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) spotted ahead of official unveil

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S3 about four months ago, but that won’t remain the only tablet the South Korean company launches this year. A mid-range slate that goes by model number SM-T385 has been recently spotted online.

Considering the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is known as Samsung SM-T350, the new tablet might be a sequel to the mid-range slate. The listing at GFXBench reveals some of its specs, such as the 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

Just like the current model, the alleged Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) sports an …

BLU Grand XL spotted ahead of official unveil

We’ve recently reported about a new budget-friendly BLU smartphone that was recently granted FCC’s approval, the BLU Studio J2. However, this doesn’t seem to be the only handset the US-headquartered company is likely to launch in the next couple of weeks.

An unannounced BLU smartphone has been spotted at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) today, which could be the sequel to the Grand X, a mid-range handset launched on the market back in January.

There’s not much information filed at FCC, but since this might be the sequel to the BLU Grand X, we believe …

Andy Rubin's Essential Android smartphone spotted on GFXBench

The so-called father of Android, Andy Rubin, has been working on a high-end Android handset that is expected to take on top shelf models like the Apple iPhone and the Google Pixel. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass.

Alcatel Idol 5S spotted again with 5.2-inch FHD display, Android 7.0 Nougat

Alcatel usually has a strong presence at Mobile World Congress, but this year, TCL, the Chinese company that owns the brand, did not announce anything impressive other than the BlackBerry-branded KeyOne smartphone.

Perhaps TCL has so many projects underway that there’s no time to launch them all at once, or maybe it’s a strategic decision to allow some time between new devices.

However, we do know for sure that TCL is likely to announce a brand new mid-range smartphone very soon, the Alcatel Idol 5S. We’ve talked about it back in February when the handset was spotted at Geekbench, …

The ZTE Z986 has been spotted online; includes Android 7.1.1 and a massive 6-inch screen

Throughout 2016 and even so far in 2017, ZTE has proven to know a thing or two about what it takes to create a quality smartphone that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Last year’s Axon 7 lineup and ZMAX Pro proved to be some of the best smartphones for their price range, and this year’s Consumer Electronics Show is where we were first introduced to the commendable Blade V8 Pro.

ZTE already has some true winners under its belt, but the company is nowhere near to calling it quits. ZTE took the stage at Mobile World Congress 2017 to announce the Blade V8 Mini and V8 Lite, and a new …
