Samsung's high-end Android flip phone may sport SD-835 and 6GB of RAM

Samsung’s W-series phones are high-end handsets with a flip form factor. The melding of the old and new works out just fine for those who miss their old device, but want to have the most up to date software and specs. The SM-W2018 is expected to be the latest W-series handset coming from Samsung. Back in May, the phone was certified by China’s regulatory TENAA agency. At the time, the handset was powered by the Snapdragon 821 chipset and carried 4GB of RAM inside. Earlier this month, the manual for the phone leaked revealing that wireless charging will be a feature on the phone.

Today, a …

Xiaomi's next flagship to sport a 6-inch OLED display from Samsung, according to report

If you thought Apple was the sole winner of Samsung Display’s recent expansion of its smartphone OLED display business, think again. A new report from Korean publication The Bell says Chinese powerhouse Xiaomi has recently signed a deal with Samsung for a supply of several million panels for its upcoming 2018 flagship.
The deal reportedly went through following a failed cooperation with LG Display, which fell through due to a delay in the building of a new plant. Curiously, this shift also impacted the unnamed device’s design, as LG’s display …

Google patent could mean that future Pixel phones will sport a rear touchpad

Google has received a patent for a feature that could allow future Pixel models to sport a touch sensitive surface on the rear cover of the phone. Or, Google could license the patent to phone manufacturers. Google writes in its filing, “It would be advantageous to have an improved touch sensitive surface that offers additional modes of operation.” This rear touchpad could handle many different tasks depending on the app or operation that the user currently has open.

For example, if a music app is open, the rear touchpad would control music volume. If the browser was in use, the rear touchpad …

Deal: Get the LG Watch Sport with a 2-year AT&T contract for free

The LTE-enabled LG Watch Sport is already available in the United States at various carriers (not Verizon, which canceled it). However, if you haven’t got the time or need to purchase one, now is your chance to make it right if you changed your mind.

AT&T has a promotional offer on the LG Watch Sport, which allows customers to get the smartwatch for as little as $0. There’s a catch though, as you’ll have to agree to a 2-year contract with the carrier if you want to snatch the LG Watch Sport for free.

LG Watch Sport was initially available at AT&T …

Verizon cancels the LG Watch Sport smartwatch

It looks like Verizon has no love for smartwatches unless they belong to its brand. The Big Red announced last month that it would delay the launch of the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier until June, but it did release its own Wear24 smartwatch last week.

Today, the carrier confirmed that another Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch it has added to its portfolio not long ago, the LG Watch Sport has been canceled.

LG hasn’t yet confirmed Verizon’s information, but the LTE-enabled version of the smartwatch was pulled from the carrier’s website recently. Also, those who pre-ordered …

New phone in the Galaxy C line could be first Samsung model to sport a dual camera setup

Many have assumed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 would be the first Samsung handset to sport a dual camera setup. But you know what they say about making assumptions. Instead, a sketch tweeted by a source reveals that it will be a new handset in the Samsung Galaxy C line that will be the first Samsung handset to carry two cameras on back. The sketch also shows that this Galaxy C phone will sport the slotted antenna design instead of those unsightly antenna lines that run on the top and bottom of a phone. Not only do they look much better than those ugly lines, they also do a better job of making …

LG V30 rumored to sport Snapdragon 835, 6 GB RAM and dual front and back cameras

LG went through a rather difficult 2016. The company attempted to shake things up with the bold designs of its G5 and V20 handsets, but its gamble didn’t pay off as both models failed to entice the mass consumer and sold poorly.

As a result, the South Korean firm has reportedly changed tactics and is likely to adopt a more traditional approach in 2017.

The LG G6 will have its premiere at MWC which is just around the corner, so we do have a considerable amount of information about the device. One of the biggest let downs of the upcoming flagship is that it …

LG Watch Sport and Style manuals leaked: Google Assistant and Android Pay confirmed

With Android Wear 2.0 allegedly coming tomorrow, everyone expects that the new LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style devices will also be unveiled at the same event. And considering the manuals for both of them were just leaked, we’re willing to bet that the South Korean company will indeed present its new wearable flagships the same day Android Wear 2.0 sees the light of day.

But said manuals give us more info than the approaching release date. According to the PDF files, the LG Watch Sport will come with Android Pay built-in. You will be able to add cards through …

LG Watch Sport appears on Geekbench

As we’ve told you before, Google and LG will introduce two new smartwatches on February 8th, and launch them two days later. These two timepieces are the first to come out of the box with Android Wear 2.0 pre-installed. The LG Watch Style is the lower priced of the two, with $249 rumored to be that price. Speculation has the LG Watch Sport priced $100 higher at $349. The latter model comes with a heart rate monitor, LTE (meaning that it will make and take calls without pairing with a smartphone), GPS and NFC. While the Watch Style will have an IP67 certification rating, the Watch Sport carries …

LG Watch Sport and Watch Style Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches appear in blurry press photos

We’re probably about one week away from the official launch of the Android Wear 2.0, and we have a set of pictures showing two of the smartwatches that will run the new OS for wearable devices.

The LG Watch Sport and Watch Style will be unveiled on February 9, alongside Android Wear 2.0, but they will hit the shelves a few days later. Google and LG have partnered to launch these smartwatches, which will feature deep Google Assistant integration.

Even though the leaked press renders are clearly low-res, at least we’re offered a good enough look on what’s to …
