Meizu M6 goes official: modest specs, solid design, and ultra-affordable price

In the wake of ~$999 smartphones, the freshly-unveiled Meizu M6 is the proverbial exception to the rule due to its super-low price tag. Once it hits the shelves in China, it will retail for the local equivalent of ~$100, which is quite the sweet price for the package. That said, it’s not much different than last year’s also-affordable Meizu M5, but it offers a bunch of neat improvements here and there that keep the new phone contemporary and up-to-date.
Here’s what makes the Meizu M6 click and tick:

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2's leaked specs suggest it's not an entry-level tablet

Samsung has one more ace under its sleeve for those looking to buy a decent Android tablet for outdoor use. That ace is called Galaxy Tab Active 2, a rugged tablet that we’ve learned about for the first time back in June. However, it was only last week that we’ve been able to dig a few details about the slate and find out that it will soon be introduced.

Since information about its specs was scarce, we’re happy to report that the Galaxy Tab Active 2 made it to GFXBench, the app that stores benchmark results for old, new and unreleased smartphones and tablet.

According to the listing, …

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 rumor review: Design, specs, features, price, and all we know thus far

Despite the availability issues, it’s pretty safe to consider the Google Pixel and Pixel XL as two of the better top-end phones launched last year. Their most profound feature was the camera, which really set a high bar for all other flagships to jump over.
Of course, it doesn’t take a genius to realize that after the good start, Google will be willing to use the gained momentum and one-up itself and the competition in 2017 with the second generation of Pixel devices. Right now, we are not exactly sure if we will get treated to 2 or 3 new handsets as we’re hearing …

Alleged iPhone X specs leak out: 2.5GHz chipset, high-res display, and 512 GB version

There has never been an iPhone as leaked as the upcoming “all-screen” edition dubbed tentatively iPhone X, and today is no exception. Hours before the actual announcement, the Russkies seemingly strike again, leaking information about the most anticipated phone of the season. We kid, but what you see below is seemingly a screen grab from a carrier database that lists the specs and different versions of one iPhone X.
Since the screen diagonal is listed as 5.8″ with 1125 x 2436 pixels, we can only assume that the alleged screen grab features the “bezel-less” iPhone X rumored …

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 specs comparison versus the Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30

Xiaomi just unveiled another bezel-less monster to succeed its last-year Mi MIX, which was one of the first phones to kick-start the design trend. Although that one was mostly a proof of concept, the second-gen Mi Mix appears to be much-more fleshed out consumer product. Retaining the same old bezel-busting aesthetics and doubling down with some serious hardware under the hood, the Mi MIX 2 would likely give any other phone out there a serious run for the money.

Yet, there’s always the availability issue with Xiaomi’s phones, which are still a fata morgana …

The standard Huawei Mate 10 is only known by its codename …

Moto X4 specs comparison versus Nokia 6 and the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017): Viable mid-rangers

Just yesterday at the penultimate day leading to IFA 2017, Lenovo officially unveiled its newest mid-ranger, the Moto X4, and boy, is it a noteworthy one!
Packing a power-efficient Snapdragon 630 chipset running at 2.2GHz and a 5.2-inch 1080p display up front, the new performer is powered by a 3,000mAh battery that will certainly keep the lights on for a long time. With a dual camera setup at the rear, pairing one 12MP and another 8MP shooter for shallow depth of field emulation, as well as a 16MP selfie camera, either 3 or 4GB of RAM with 32/64GB of storage, …

Pictures and specs of the canceled Microsoft Surface mini appear once more

Of course you remember the Ballad of the Surface mini. It’s a country song performed by The Voice’s Blake Shelton and is full of the typical heart aching sadness that country songs are known for. It is about an event that was taking place in May 2014 to introduce the Surface Pro 3 and the Surface mini. But on the date of the event, the Surface mini never showed up as the product was pulled from the assembly line at the last moment and was never manufactured. Apparently, the assembly line had its heart won over by another product.

Just yesterday, tipster Evan Blass revealed images and specs …

LG V30 vs Galaxy Note 8 vs OnePlus 5 vs HTC U11: Android heavyweights specs comparison

With the LG V30 now being official, the Android heavyweights space is getting more cramped than ever.
The brand new Galaxy Note 8, the excellent OnePlus 5, and the surprisingly-solid HTC U11 will be waging a war for consumers’ pockets come the next few months, and the LG V30 will have a tough mission ahead of itself, considering that Google will have the final say with the second generation of its Pixel phones.
But as for now, these are the devices that stand between the LG V30 and the path to success. Let’s see how they compare in …

LG V30 vs Galaxy S8+ vs LG V20 vs LG G6: A specs comparison

LG is stepping things up with the LG V30 today, announcing the third entry in its acclaimed V-series family, which is shaping up to be quite the stunning device. A fitting competition to the current top Android phones and also quite the deserving follow-up to the LG V20 and, of course, the LG G6.
But how does it fare against Samsung’s Galaxy S8+ and LG’s own G6 from the first half of this year? Is it really that big of an improvement over the V20 from a year ago? There’s an easy and there’s a detailed answer to that question.
We’ll …
