Huawei breaking records in 2017, over 100 million smartphones shipped so far

Chinese manufacturer Huawei has managed to ship over 100 million smartphones for the first three quarters of 2017. This translates to a year-over-year increase of 19%, which means that the company has a very high chance of surpassing the 140 million units it shipped in 2016.

BlackBerry makes Samsung Galaxy smartphones even more secure with new SecuSUITE features

Samsung and BlackBerry have teamed up to improved the security of Galaxy smartphones a long time ago. Today, both companies announced their partnership is going deeper with the addition of SecuVOICE in Samsung Knox.

Usually, Samsung Knox comes with some BlackBerry security feature grouped together under the SecuSUITE name. This pack of security features is compatible with Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge, Galaxy S8/S8+, and Galaxy Note 8 smartphones, as well as Galaxy Tab S2 (8-inch and 10-inch) and Tab S3 tablets.

HMD says all current Nokia smartphones will be upgraded to Android P

HMD has already committed to updating all its Nokia smartphones launched this year to Android 8.0 Oreo. Even the cheap Nokia 3 is supposed to be upgraded to the new version of the OS by the end of the year.

Well, it looks like the Finnish company took it even further and said that all its current Nokia smartphones will be upgraded to Android P soon after Google releases it next year. The announcement was made earlier today at a launch event in the Philippines.

Asus to launch new ZenFone 5 smartphones in March 2018 at the earliest

Asus officially introduced its new ZenFone 4 lineup in Europe this week, but the new smartphones were delayed for many months. Although it was initially slated for a spring reveal, the ZenFone 4 handsets did not make it to market until fall, a decision that will most likely weigh heavily in Asus’s financial results this year.

Motorola has just announced that many of its smartphones launched in the last year or so will receive the recently released Android 8.0 Oreo update. The list doesn’t contain any budget-friendly smartphones like the Moto E4 or E4 Plus, but many mid-range handsets made it on the list.

Archos intros two new ruggedized Android Nougat smartphones and a tablet


French company Archos showcased three new mobile devices at IFA 2017 early this month. Two Android smartphones and a tablet will be launched on the market this fall, all three within the €280 price mark.
