HTC U11 Plus and U11 Life show up in a hands-on video

Following various leaks presenting renders and
less-flattering photos of the unannounced HTC U11 Plus (or U11+), we can now
see the smartphone in a hands-on video. Inadvertently published
by Swiss publication Blick, said video can be watched at the second source link below
(unfortunately, we can’t embed it in this article).

Thanks to this leaked video, we can take a pretty good look
at the HTC U11 Plus and its 6-inch, 1440 x 2880 pixels display with an 18:9
aspect ratio. The new phone has thin bezels around its screen, but can’t really
stand next to the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8, …

Photos show iPhone X boxes waiting to ship; video reveals what is under the lid of the box

So let’s say that you pre-ordered your Apple iPhone X. What happens next? No, not to you, but to the boxes containing the iPhone X. Well luckily for everyone, tipster Benjamin Geskin’s dad isn’t an engineer at Apple, so no one will lose their job after we show you images of the Apple iPhone X retail box awaiting the long and winding journey to an Apple Store, or maybe to your front door at home.

Another photo shows the silver version of the iPhone X being stared at by some one whose reflection can be seen bouncing off the back of the phone. Check out the vertically mounted dual rear-facing …

Confirmed by the NFL on Twitter, the pop singer will take the stage on Feb. 4, 2018 for the halftime bonanza in Minneapolis.

HTC U11 Plus leaked renders show a glamorous back plate, but rather thick chins

HTC U11 Plus may be one of the last flagship smartphones the Taiwanese company will launch on the market after it had sold its mobile division to Google.

The smartphone is supposed to go official on November 2, but the first details about the U11 Plus have already emerged earlier today. But for those who would rather take a peek at the upcoming HTC flagship before it gets announced, we finally have a couple of pictures to show you courtesy of OnLeaks.

These images are based on the HTC U11 Plus’ CAD (computer-aided design) files, a format that is used by engineers …

Video tutorials show you some of the things you can do with the Samsung Gear IconX and Gear Sport

The wireless Samsung Gear IconX earbuds do more than just allow you to listen to content in private. Today, Samsung released a video tutorial for the device that shows you how to pair the earbuds to your Galaxy handset (in this case, the Galaxy Note 8). It’s a simple matter of opening the Samsung Gear app, selecting the Gear IconX picture, agreeing to the terms and conditions, and tapping on “Finish.”

The earbuds also can carry up to 1,000 tunes for playback during those times when the device isn’t paired to a phone. As seen on the video, transferring music from the phone to the Gear IconX …

First Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) renders show a shrunken down Galaxy S8 sans the curved display

Tall, nearly bezel-less displays are old news by now, with nearly everyone in the industry having already shown what its own take on the idea looks like. And in its brief lifetime, the trend has moved beyond just flagship devices, with both little-known Chinese manufacturers and bigger names like LG releasing cheaper devices utilizing the design.

So it was only inevitable that Samsung, one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world, would start moving its own mid-rangers towards the so-called “Infinity Display” design — after all, the …

Amazon Echo Show and Echo Dot are both on sale for a limited time

Almost two weeks after unveiling the revamped Amazon Echo, the Amazon Echo Plus and the Amazon Echo Spot, a couple of older Echo devices are being made more affordable. The Echo Show, which features a 7-inch screen, and the Amazon Echo Dot are both now on sale. The latter resembles a hockey puck on steroids. Both smart speakers are on a sale for a limited time only.

The Echo Show’s 7-inch screen allows you to make/take hands-free video calls, allows you to watch videos, and see song lyrics from Amazon Music. You can even monitor the baby’s room after installing cameras. With eight microphones …

First Huawei Mate 10 Pro photos show off its glass back and tall display in action

Huawei has a whole bunch of Mate 10-branded devices on the horizon, but you’d be excused for only ever hearing about one of them, the Mate 10 Pro. With its tall, nearly bezel-less design, the Pro is the device that most closely follows 2017’s biggest smartphone trend, so it’s no surprise leakers are so focused on it.

But while we’ve seen both the promotional materials and the official renders, the classic in-hand potatocam shot has so far eluded us. But thanks to a user of Chinese social media Weibo, this has just changed:
Unfortunately, …

Google to produce smart speaker with screen to take on the Amazon Echo Show

After the surprising success of the Amazon Echo created strong demand for the new product category known as the smart speaker, Google launched its Echo challenger last November. With Google Assistant in the role of the virtual personal sidekick, which is held by Alexa on the Echo devices, the Google Home came to market on November 4th, 2016. The latest data show that Amazon controls more than 70% of the smart speaker market with Google accounting for roughly 25%.

Just the other day, Google pulled YouTube from the Amazon Echo Show. This is the version of the Echo that features a 7-inch screen. …

Levi's Woke jeans let you show the world how tuned in you are

On Saturday Night Live, Levi’s Woke jeans ask a simple question: If you’re woke, why aren’t your jeans?

This faux-ad, featuring Ryan Gosling, some random kid, and an assortment of SNL cast members, is built to appeal to a generation that sometimes seems more concerned with getting the lingo right than actually fostering positive change in the world. If you see these things and nod approvingly, maybe spend some time looking inward.

If, on the other hand, you see this sketch and think “Holy crap, they’re next-gen JNCOs,” well… you’re not really wrong. Read more…
