Elizabeth Moss says 'Handmaid's Tale' Season 2 will be 'darker' — somehow

TwitterFacebook

The Handmaid’s Tale feels unstoppable at every award show, and Season 2 appears to have no intention of slowing down — or letting us off the hook.

Over the weekend at the TV Critics Association press tour, Elizabeth Moss warned reporters: “It’s a dark season. I would say arguably it’s darker than Season 1 — if that’s possible.”

At the forefront of that darkness is the conflicting, traumatizing experience of being an expecting mother in Gilead. “[Show creator Bruce Miller] and I always talked about this impending birth of this child growing inside her like a ticking time bomb.” Read more…

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane will serve as executive producer of the show, just as he did when it was revived back in 2015. It featured plenty of mind-blowing science facts, animated history lessons, and Tyson riding around in a weird silver spaceship.

Yup. We got the band back together. Another season of Cosmos is officially real. “COSMOS: Possible Worlds” To air on @FOXTV & @NatGeoChannnel in a year — Spring 2019. Be therepic.twitter.com/BGFJG11Pim

'The Walking Dead' will return for Season 9 with a familiar face as the new showrunner

TwitterFacebook

Scott M. Gimple is out (sort of), Angela Kang is in.

The Walking Dead will return for a ninth season with Kang, a writer on the show since Season 2, occupying the showrunner’s seat. She’s the series first female showrunner, following Gimple, Glen Mazzara, and Frank Darabont.

Gimple, who has been the showrunner since Season 4, brought stability to the AMC series after tumultuous early years when lawsuits and creative differences between key decision-makers loomed over all. He’ll now move into the role of Chief Content Officer for AMC’s Walking Dead brand, which includes both the main series and the Fear the Walking Dead spinoff. Read more…

'Outlander' Season 3 premiere finally reveals how Jamie and Black Jack's story ends

TwitterFacebook

Spoiler warning: This recap contains plot details for Outlander Season 3, episode 1, titled “The Battle Joined.”

Try as Jamie Fraser might, he just can’t seem to die.

He enters the Battle of Culloden devastated by the reality of having to say goodbye to his wife and unborn child, but also assured of their safety, having sent them (and the rest of his Lallybroch men) out of harm’s way before the battle begins.

That leaves his way clear to die a heroic (if unnecessary) death among his countrymen, knowing the defeat that awaits them thanks to Charles Stuart’s hubris. But even after one final, bloody, surreal showdown with Black Jack Randall, death refuses to come for our noble hero.  Read more…

Will the most hyped 'Game of Thrones' fight ever finally go down in the season finale?

TwitterFacebook

Sometimes Game of Thrones theories are less theory and more straight up hype. And, in one case, the hype is just too real.

Cleganebowl is a prediction that has stayed with the Game of Thrones fandom since the days of yore, in 2013. Essentially, it’s fueled by the dream of watching the two most feared fighters in all of Westeros, the Hound and the Mountain (who are also brothers), face off in a fight to the death.

At this point, Cleganebowl is like a religion, with its own fervent following, hashtag, and dedicated subreddit. What is lacks in canonical evidence, it certainly makes up for in pure rad-ness factor. Read more…
