More Galaxy S9 Exynos vs Snapdragon benchmarks leak, top the iPhone X score

After seeing Samsung’s newfangled Exynos 9810 chipset that will be in the Galaxy S9 make the benchmarking rounds yesterday with 4GB RAM, today brings us the Galaxy S9+ appearing on AnTuTu with a Snapdragon 845 on board, and 6GB of the stuff.

This is arguably the handset that leaked not long ago, and scored similar to 9810 in the multi-core tally, but much lower in single core, so what else are we learning about it from AnTuTu’s post today?
Well, the screen resolution of the SM-G965 handset (S9+) won’t be 1080 x 2020 pixels, as is depicted …

'Built like a tank': Apple's HomePod speaker gets 1 out of 10 score in repairability

Apple’s new HomePod smart speaker costs the whopping $279 to repair, and the latest teardown from the crafty folks over at iFixit comes to show why. The reason Apple is asking 80$ of the HomePod’s actual $349 cost to fix it if anything happens, is that it got a repairability score of 1 out of 10 on the iFixit scale. How come?

Well, the HomePod is apparently “built like a tank,” which is a double-edged sword, as it apparently means mesh-prying and adhesive removal that is not for the faint of heart, and can easily damage both the looks, and the internals of the device …

J.D. Power awards T-Mobile the highest score ever for wireless customer care

While T-Mobile is still the nation’s third largest carrier, it is the fastest growing wireless operator in the country. When you consider where the carrier was a few short years ago, you can really appreciate what the company has accomplished. When we think back seven to eight years ago, T-Mobile was stuck behind Sprint, last among the top four major stateside carriers. It was last to start building out a 3G network and well behind Verizon and AT&T with 4G LTE. T-Mobile didn’t have an identity outside of its television pitchwoman Carly.

When John Legere became CEO in 2012, he immediately …

Galaxy A8 and A8+ (2018) score real-time HDR processing for photos

The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018) are shaping up to be quite the attractive mid-range offerings. Already packing some of the features, otherwise found on much more expensive handsets, the 2018 A8 models are also getting real-time HDR processing for photos, Samsung’s official specs page for the models reveals.

HDR photo processing is nothing new on smartphones, however, due to the more demanding nature of the process, it hasn’t always been nearly as immediate as we’ve come to expect from recent flagships, especially on lower-end devices. …

Deal: Perhaps your last chance to score an LTE-ready Wear24 smartwatch for just $80

Verizon didn’t seem to like its own smartwatch, otherwise, we can’t explain why the carrier discontinued the Wear24 four months after it went on sale. Initially launched for $350, the price for the Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch quickly dropped to unbelievable values.

In the last two months, several retailers sold the LTE-ready Wear24 for just $80, nearly 80% less than the original price. If you missed those deals, you have one more chance to score a good deal if you really want an Android Wear smartwatch.

Up on eBay, a retailer is selling the Wear24 for $79.97 …
