Awesome Galaxy S9 renders offer an early glimpse at what Samsung's next flagships might look like

Samsung was among the first major phone makers to usher in the bezel-less design trend that’s taken the mobile world by storm and is seemingly on its way to become the next de-facto norm for smartphone industrial design. The Galaxy S8 and S8+, followed by the mighty Note 8, were all running successes for Samsung, and looking back now, it’s kind of hard to believe that the S8 is actually over half a year old. Yup, the iconic bezel-less duo released back in April, and think about this – that was 6 months ago and there’s about 7 months, give or take a week or two, until their …

Samsung Galaxy S9: 9 new features to expect

Where there is smoke there is fire, and the fact that nuggets of info about upcoming Galaxy S9 are already trickling out may come as support for the rumor that Samsung may pull its release forward in order to combat the wider market availability of the iPhone X, whose production is expected to ramp up sufficiently no sooner than next quarter.

While a grandiose change in looks is not expected, given that Samsung just blasted off with the Infinity Display design this year, there will be grand changes under the hood, if the rumor mill and history …

No shocker, Samsung Galaxy S9 series to include Galaxy S9+

Are you sitting down, muscles taunt in expectation of big news? We won’t delay this any longer. With work apparently starting on the firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S9, it seems that all indications point to a second variant of the model to be released next year alongside the new flagship phone. In other words, Samsung will be offering both the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ in 2018.

Yes, you must be so stunned that a feather would knock you to the ground. But we know you can find the inner strength to keep on going. According to a report published today, Samsung has two new firmware versions, …

Ming-Chi Kuo says to expect a dual camera setup for the Samsung Galaxy S9

Last month, an analyst from Hana Financial Investment named Kim Rok-ho, said that he expects the Samsung Galaxy S9 to feature a dual camera setup. Another analyst, Park Hyug-woo from Shinhan Investment, predicted that dual cameras will appear on the back of both the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. With all due respect to those two analysts, the tech world doesn’t get terribly excited until such a proclamation comes from an analyst with a proven track record, like KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo.

While Kuo is known for his fabulous calls on Apple devices, the analyst has lately …

Samsung Galaxy S9 might feature modular capabilities

Russian based tipster Eldar Murtazin has sent out a tweet repeating a rumor that he was made privy to by an unnamed source. According to this rumor, the Samsung Galaxy S9 is going to feature modular accessories. Right now, the Motorola Moto Z line and the Essential Phone both allow users to connect modular attachments to each handset. Motorola’s Moto Mods lead the way with a number of accessories that include a projector, sound booster, battery pack, video game platform, Hasselblad camera optics, a 360 degree camera, and more. Andy Rubin’s Essential Phone currently has a 360 degree camera available, …

Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S9 to get most of the initial Snapdragon 845 supply

This spring’s Android flagship crop was in large part dictated by Samsung and its decision to hoard the entire initial Snapdragon 835 supply for the North American version of its Galaxy S8. As a result, LG decided to use the last-gen Snapdragon 821 in its G6 instead, while others, including HTC, Xiaomi, and Sony, had to release their devices later.

And it seems this tactic worked well for the Korean giant, which is now rumored to do the very same thing in 2018 with the Snapdragon 845 and its next flagship, the Galaxy S9. The information comes from a …

Galaxy S9, Note 8 and A7 (2018) chipsets tipped: Exynos 9810, 9610 and a hexa-core 7885

Samsung announced the Exynos 8895 chipset in the Galaxy S8 as a member of its Exynos 9-series, even though it is coded with the number eight still, so a true Exynos 9xxx is yet to hit the tape. This may all be changing soon, though, as a leakster with a proven track record of outing mobile processors before they are announced, has posted some info on an eventual Exynos 9610.

Still built on the 10nm process as the Galaxy S8 chipset, the 9610 is said to land with four powerful Cortex-A73 nodes, clocked at 2.4 GHz, and four frugal Cortex-A53 ones for the …

Analysts: Note 8, Galaxy S9 and Note 9 would all have dual cameras

If you had any doubts that the Note 8 will land with a dual camera set, Korean security analysts are in full swing today trying to dispel them. It seems that Samsung Electro-Mechanics, the department that is in charge of mobile camera modules, is expected to have blowout quarters going forward, riding on the coattails of Samsung’s switch to dual cameras for its phones.

According to Kim Rok-ho, an analyst from Hana Financial Investment: “Supplies of dual camera modules for Samsung Electronics’ flagship model starting in the latter half this year will also contribute to Samsung …

Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus reportedly in full scale development under code names Star and Star 2

Korean media The Bell reports that the Galaxy S8 successor is in full scale development at Samsung under the code name Star. A larger-screen model, possibly the Galaxy S9 Plus, is codenamed Star 2. That aside, there are two bits of new information regarding the Galaxy S9 in the report. First, the phone is said to have similar display technology to its predecessor. Thus, it likely won’t be the foldable phone that’s been rumored for so long, but rather a refinement of the Infinity Display design.

Second, Samsung has reportedly accelerated its component production …
