Blast from the past: Verizon rolls out Android 7.0 Nougat for Motorola DROID MAXX 2

The DROID MAXX 2 is a rather old smartphone having been introduced in the US in late 2015. At the time Verizon launched the device, it was running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but the carrier updated the DROID MAXX 2 to Marshmallow back in 2016.

Although it hasn’t been three full years since the DROID MAXX 2 made its debut on the market, we’re kind of surprised to see that Verizon and Motorola are still supporting the smartphone. Today, Big Red confirmed the handset launched in October 2015 is now getting an Android 7.0 Nougat update.

AT&T rolls out new update to Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, see all the new changes

AT&T has released a new update for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. Weighing in at 480MB, the software upgrade should bump the version of the S8 to G950USQU2BQK5. Meanwhile, the larger variant gets version G955USQU2BQK5.

AT&T rolls out Android Oreo 8.1 to Pixel 2 and 2 XL, update also adds HD Voice Calling

AT&T has released a new update to Google’s Pixel 2 phones. Weighing in at 531.7MB, the software upgrade brings the recently-announced Android Oreo 8.1 in addition to the carrier’s proprietary HD Voice functionality.

Google rolls out Chrome 63 for Android, here is what's new

Google usually releases major versions of Chrome at the same time on all major platforms, but this time the Android app kind of jumped the gun. Even if Google confirmed that Chrome 63 has already been released, the new version of the browser is not yet available for download in the Google Play Store.

Asus rolls out ZenUI 4.0 for ZenFone 4 Max, but Android 8.0 Oreo is still MIA

Asus launched a few ZenFone 4 models back in September, but they had different versions of ZenUI despite the fact they all shipped with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board. For example, the ZenFone 4 Max was running ZenUI 3.0 on top of Nougat, while the ZenFone 4 Pro and ZenFone 4 included a new version of the skin.

Apple is rolling out the fifth beta version of the upcoming iOS 11.2 update. The patch was first seeded to developers, but shortly after, it was made available for public testing as well.
