Back in October, Google announced that its machine-learning powered visual analysis app Lens will hit Pixel and Pixel 2 phones later this year. Lens went live for the first time as a feature in Google Photos, but over the last couple of weeks, a number of reports emerged online, suggesting that Lens is also making its way to Google assistant, albeit incrementally.
Samsung had been spreading Nougat love for quite some time now, as many Galaxy smartphones and tablets have already received software updates this year. The next on the list seems to be the Galaxy J5 (2016), an entry-level smartphone that made its debut on the market last year in April.
Although theoretically, the Galaxy J5 (2016) qualifies for another major Android update like Oreo, it’s unlikely the smartphone will get it anytime soon (or at all).
In any case, for the time being, the update is available in select European markets, but it will slowly make …
It looks like Motorola has just started to push the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update to the Moto X Play. The US-based company confirmed back in June that the mid-range smartphone will be updated to Nougat, but it did not offer details on the exact release date.
Even now we still don’t know when the update will arrive in certain countries, but at least some Moto X Play owners managed to upgrade their phones. For the time being, the only reports that confirm Motorola have kicked off the roll-out of Android 7.1.1 Nougat for Moto X Play come from Brazil.
The update contains one of the newest …
Good news for HTC One M9 owners in the United States, as the two-year-old smartphone is now getting its second major Android OS update. The device that made its debut at Verizon with Android 5.0 Lollipop on board is being updated to Nougat over the next few days.
Verizon confirmed on its support website that HTC One M9 is eligible for Android 7.0 Nougat, an update that brings quite a lot of new features and improvements. Also, the carrier announced the update includes the latest Android security updates and bug fixes.
To recap, Android Nougat brings multi-window …
Great news for LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition owners who purchase their smartwatches through AT&T, as the carrier has just announced Android Wear 2.0 is now being pushed to the wearable device.
AT&T’s LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is the last version of the smartwatch received this update after Verizon released it about a month ago. Not to mention the first generation model got Android Wear 2.0 back in April.
It’s been almost seven months since Google launched Android Wear 2.0, but it looks like carriers have been delaying the release of the update for quite a long time.
Nova Launcher 5.4 has rolled out of beta and into the stable channel. Throughout July, early testers of the popular Android home screen replacement were treated to various improvements, such as a brand new and robust shortcuts system (albeit via third-party app integration), new animations, and the usual tweaks and added layers of polish that can be expected from every update.
The big star of the show is obviously Sesame Shortcuts – a third-party app that’s now deeply integrated into Nova Launcher and allows users to jump to specific apps, or even screens within apps, by simply using the search …
The Galaxy S5 Neo is a relatively old smartphone software-wise. The device was launched exactly 2 years ago with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on board but received an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow last year.
Fast forward a bit more than a year and it looks like Samsung has suddenly decided to breathe new life into the old Galaxy S5 Neo by offering users another major OS update, Android 7.0 Nougat.
Although Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy S5 Neo is only being pushed out in Canada, there’s no doubt that Samsung will continue the roll-out to other countries in the near future. It’s important …
Good news for customers who purchased the HTC U11, as the Taiwanese handset maker has just announced a new update is now available for download. The update is supposed to bring a few new features that weren’t available in the HTC U11 at launch, such as improved video recording and connectivity features.
If you don’t remember, we reported last month that HTC U11 could get support for Bluetooth 5.0 in a future update. Earlier this week, news about HTC enabling 60 FPS video recording (1080p) for the U11 emerged as well.
Today, HTC Taiwan confirmed that a new firmware is now being pushed …
