The high-end sedan and SUV crossover is imagined as a four-motor all-wheel drive vehicle with a 200-mile range battery with fast charging capabilities. The inside of the car is as important as its specs as Mercedes describes the vehicle as “intended primarily for chauffeur-driven use.”

Its interior features “Magic Wood” ebony to appeal to the Chinese market and is smooth and curvy with few sharp edges. The color palette includes rose gold, crystal white, and pearl gray. The seats are white leather and very adjustable. The reclining seats also feature calf support. Read more…

Android Messages desktop client is almost ready for prime time

It’s amazing how much can be uncovered by digging through the code of Android app updates. A couple of months ago, the folks over at XDA discovered evidence in on of the then-recent updates for Android Messages, suggesting that a desktop client for the service is in the works. The code hinted at compatibility with all major desktop browsers, rather than a stand-alone app, but the feature was too early in development to give us a better idea of what to expect.

The feature seems to have been further fleshed-out since then, with the Android side of …

Carrier chief: Get ready for a Samsung 5G phone, as 'preparations' are in play

Prompted by a question about Huawei’s newest 5G cellular modem, announced at the MWC expo the other day, the CTO of SK Telecom Park Jin-hyo answered mysteriously that “Huawei excels in its technologies…While Samsung may not say much, it has also been making a lot of preparations,” and added “It is not so far for Samsung either in coming up with a 5G device.”

The fact that the telco’s CTO didn’t budge when confronted with Huawei’s announcement shows how certain he is that Samsung is working on a 5G handset i its own turn. We’d wager to guess that this will be the Galaxy S10, or …

Get ready for weed yoga: The first legal cannabis spa may be on its way

Weed and yoga might just be a match made in heaven. But despite pot’s legal status in Denver, “ganja yoga” isn’t permitted. Well, unless you get stoned yourself and then go to a yoga class. But maybe there’s another option on the way…

Latest BBM update is out of beta, ready to be installed on your iOS or Android phone

BBM used to be one of the only reasons to buy a BlackBerry. So when CEO John Chen decided to open up the messaging app to iOS and Android users, the executive was taking a big risk. Remember, this was before the release of the BlackBerry Priv, the first ‘Berry to be powered by Android. But Chen wasn’t too concerned with losing hardware sales because he was already looking at BlackBerry as a software company.

He knew he was on the right track when Facebook paid $21.8 billion to buy WhatsApp. If the latter was worth almost $22 billion, Chen reasoned that BBM had to be worth a few billion. …

Peter Dinklage is ready for 'Game of Thrones' to be over

Peter Dinklage is out in Utah to rep his new movie I Think We’re Alone Now at the annual Sundance Film Festival and — of course — he’s fielding questions about Game of Thrones.

HBO’s hit series is set to conclude with its eighth season in 2019, Dinklage seems like he’s ready to bid farewell to Tyrion Lannister in an interview with Variety.

“It’s time,” he said. “Storywise, not just for all our lives. It’s the perfect time to end it. Sometimes shows stay on a little too long, the jumping-the-shark thing.”

Dinklage admits there are “bittersweet” feelings in saying goodbye to a cast and crew he’s come to know over the course of eight seasons. But the “not just for all our lives” comment is telling of the show’s success, and the fame that’s followed each of its stars over the years. Read more…
