For 30 hours starting last Monday at 9pm EDT, Amazon’s Prime Day was in effect with plenty of sales offering great deals on tech items. For example, Amazon sold the original smart speaker, the Amazon Echo, for 50% off during the sale. The top selling product over the 30-hour period was the smaller, hockey puck-esque Amazon Echo Dot. After a $15 discount, the smart speaker was reduced to $34.99 for a 30% haircut. Overall, Echo sales tripled year-over-year compared to last year’s Prime Day event.

LG files to trademark LG G6 Alpha and LG G6 Prime in Europe

It would seem that LG is not done producing different variants of its LG G6 flagship model, especially in Europe. On the continent, the company filed to trademark a couple of names that give us clues about its future intentions. Amazon announces its 2017 Prime Day shopping event – 30 hours of deals in 13 countries

The previous two Prime Days have been a runaway success for Amazon, so the e-tail juggernaut just announced the third. The election she called for, meant to consolidate power for her conservative party ahead of Brexit negotiations, backfired and cost her side a crucial majority in parliament.

With graduation season now upon us, Amazon is giving students a deal on an Amazon Prime subscription. Students who have an active college email address (the kind that end in .edu) can sign up to receive six free months of Prime.
