Want a brand new iPhone 3GS? 9 years on, Korean carrier restarts sales at $40 a pop

If you thought that the first iPhone with usable cellular connectivity is only destined for Apple timeline roundups, you aren’t in the minds of Korean carrier marketeers. A subsidiary of the largest carrier south of the DMZ, SK Telink’s brainstorming sessions aren’t what they used to be.

Braving the naysayers, the Mad Men-inspired bunch decided to use the possibilities given to it by its SK7 second-hand brand to take a bunch of iPhone 3GS models chilling in the warehouse for the last 9 years, repackage them in premium boxes, and sell them at the prepaid crowd for the equivalent …

Google Photos' Color Pop now available to some users

Announced at last week’s Google I/O, the new AI powered Color Pop feature is beginning to make its way into the Google Photos app for some users. Color Pop automatically changes the color of the background in a photograph to black and white, while keeping the subject in color. This way, the subject stands out, and the colors of the photo appear to “pop.” That’s due to the juxtaposition between the black and white and color portions of the image.

For Color Pop to work, the subject needs to be easily identified by Google’s servers. If a picture does meet the requirements, a notification will …

Wolverine is totally going to pop up in 'Deadpool 2,' isn't he?

TwitterFacebook

The dance continues.

Ryan Reynolds has a habit of trolling his old X-Men Origins: Wolverine pals Hugh Jackman. Just a few weeks ago, in fact, Reynolds took a (proverbial) dump all over an anniversary message Jackman sent to his wife of 22 years.

Now he’s at it again. In a video tweeted on Friday, Jackman can barely keep a straight face as he tries to record a “heartfelt birthday message” while a Deadpool-suited Reynolds sings “Tomorrow,” from Annie, on the bed behind him.

It’s hilarious. Especially with them breaking into “Who Let the Dogs Out.” Read more…

Renders of the alleged Huawei P20 pop up: let's count its cameras!

Just as 2017 was winding down, we got our first leak involving Huawei’s next flagship. Well, flagship trio, to be exact, since — as per the leak — Huawei is prepping three different phones. The “regular” Huawei P20 to be your run-of-the-mill expensive phone, a P20 Plus, which sounds like a phablet variant of the same, and a P20 Pro, which will probably have some hardware bump to cater more towards power users.

While the phones are still shrouded in mystery, there is one curious thing that keeps popping up, rumor after rumor — a triple camera module on the …

If you’ve been on the internet in the past, say, five years or so, you’ve undoubtedly at some point been the target of a request to enable two-factor authentication for some online service. And while giving away your phone number to a random corporation doesn’t sound like the best idea ever, this is one of the best ways to protect your accounts against unauthorized third parties.

But it seems that even a huge tech giant like Facebook has a bit of a trouble with not just giving away users’ private info — a report from Variety has just highlighted …

During this period, some cases may pop up on various mobile accessory websites, with computer-generated images of the case, with a render of what the phone is expected to look like inside. This render is usually not officially confirmed by the phone maker or anything, but taken from all the leaks that we see day in and day out.
