Pokemon GO adds Community Day monthly event starring a special Pokemon

Niantic has just announced a new event for Pokemon GO trainers in an attempt to keep players engaged – Community Day. During this monthly in-game event, players will be offered the chance to catch a special Pokemon, as well as obtain some nice bonuses.

The first Community Day event is scheduled for January 20, and it features Pikachu. You can find below the event hours in each region, as confirmed by Niantic:

Pokemon GO update adds improved AR features on iOS devices

Pokemon GO is already based on AR (augmented reality) technology, but developer Niantic thought it would be better to update their game with improved AR features. Starting with the latest version of the game, Pokemon encounters will more realistic thanks to AR+.

The new AR+ technology takes advantage of Apple’s ARKit framework. So, players using devices running iOS 11 like the iPhone 6s and newer models will be able to experience the new AR+ in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO gets its first Generation 3 Legendary Pokemon, but only for a limited time

Pokemon GO fans rejoice, as developer Niantic has just confirmed the game will be visited by a Legendary Pokemon for the next several weeks. Groudon may be the game’s first Generation 3 Legendary Pokemon that players will have the chance to catch starting this week.

Groudon is a Ground-type Legendary Pokemon that was originally discovered in the Hoenn region. He should start showing up in Raid Battles around the world in the next couple of days. Report: Billions in auto accident damages have been caused by Pokemon GO users playing while driving

Pokemon GO is an AR powered game involving made up pocket monsters with make believe powers and capabilities. Even though Pokemon don’t really exist, playing Pokemon GO while driving can create plenty of real-life damages. According to a pair of researchers at Purdue University, nation-wide damage caused by drivers playing Pokemon GO while operating their vehicles amounted to a range of $2 billion to $7.3 billion in the first 148 days after the game was launched. Many developers must update their apps and games to support Apple’s new iPhone X due to the unusual display of the smartphone. Niantic announced recently it has issued such an update for the ever popular Pokemon GO game.
