Apple iPhone SE (2018) case renders reveal a larger camera lens on the back of the phone

According to some recent images posted by accessories manufacturer Olixar and retailer Mobile Fun, the Apple iPhone SE (2018) could feature an edge-to-edge display, a notch, and Face ID. Considering that the first generation version of the phone (released in 2016) had a retro look dating back to the Apple iPhone 5s, this obviously is a big deal. The big question is whether or not the next iPhone SE will truly look like these renders and photographs.

While the renders we showed you were from Olixar’s screen protector, the company’s first case for the iPhone SE (2018) has now been posted on …

The truly bezel-less phone: Lenovo's next flagship teased in a sketch, impressive looks raise questions

Earlier this week, we saw a new teaser by Lenovo — the corner of a smartphone with an extremely thin bezel, which also appeared to not have any sort of notch. According to Lenovo’s VP Chang Cheng, the handset would have a screen-to-body ratio of about 95%. That’s incredibly impressive and, if true, would truly feel like an “all screen phone” when held in the hand.

Now, a few days after, Chang Cheng took to Weibo (a Chinese social network) again to tease the phone once again and reveal its name.

It’ll be called the Lenovo Z5, apparently, and will be the company’s …

Patent application hints that Microsoft's folding phone could have three screens

Since December, we’ve shown you a few patents related to Microsoft’s Project Andromeda, which is a folding phone that turns into a tablet, and vice versa. Some believe that this is the long-awaited Surface Phone long rumored to be coming from the software giant. A new patent application from Microsoft reveals that the company might use three screens for the device, including a small display right in the hinge.

The images from this patent application show two large displays on either side of the device. In the middle, where the outer screens fold in, is a narrow display that would show information …

New Galaxy Note 9 benchmark test surfaces: US version of the phone likely has 6 GB of RAM

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 9 will probably not be announced before August, but the company is – unsurprisingly – already testing the phone. Just a couple of days ago, a Snapdragon-based Note 9 was benchmarked on Geekbench, so we now have a new pseudo-proof that the handset exists (most likely, no one was doubting that anyway).
The new Galaxy Note phone that’s been benchmarked has the model number SM-N960U. This is almost certainly a US-bound Note 9, as it succeeds the SM-N950U – one of the official US variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (pictured above). The …

HTC U12 rumor review: specs, pricing and release of the 'frameless' phone

Recently, HTC distributed the event teaser you see above on the hush-hush, indicating that it has something major that’s cooking in what’s left of the company after its Pixel-making team of engineers got snatched by Google. Despite the brain drain, the company isn’t giving up, and indicated it will issue a flagship this year as well, but will scale back on its overall 2018 portofolio for obvious reasons. Well, that flagship may be the U12 (perhaps joined by the U12+), while the date of HTC’s teaser marks May 23 as the day we could see it for the first time. So, what’s …

How to enable the new Google Assistant voices on your phone and smart speaker

At I/O 2018, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that one of the biggest goals going forward with Google Assistant is to make it “natural and comfortable to talk to,” and as part of this initiative Google has stepped up its game with a handful of new voices for its virtual Assistant.

While the original voice of the Assistant was provided by the charming Nat & Lo, who had to spend countless hours in a studio, recording responses to questions, now Google is able to harness its machine learning DeepMind platform to basically make artificial voices that sound real. We’re …

WhatsApp updates its Windows Phone app to add new features and comply with privacy laws

New European privacy rules take effect on May 25th, which prevent companies like Facebook from using members’ personal data without express consent. The update takes the latest version of WhatsApp to v2.18.88, and also includes some other features, performance enhancements and bug fixes.

With the update, users of the messaging app can request to see data that the app has collected from them. Similar to Facebook, clicking on “Request Account Info” in settings …

When will my phone get Android P?

“When will my phone get Android P?”

That is probably the number one question that mobile tech enthusiasts are asking themselves right now and Google has now released an official timeline for the rollout of Android P.
And no, don’t expect it much sooner than other versions, but this time, the wait should definitely be worth it with exciting new features like the brand new gesture-based navigation, as well as little everyday improvements like the new adaptive brightness, AI-optimized battery life and so on.
So …

Android P wants you to use your phone less, and that's a good thing

On a daily basis, how much time do you spend with your eyes glued to a screen? Most of us can’t give a definite answer, but it’s probably too much anyway. And sure, it might seem counterintuitive for a tech giant like Google to want you to spend less time fiddling with your phone, but apparently, that’s the direction where Android P is headed.
Digital Wellbeing – that’s one of the pillars upon which Android P is built. It is an initiative meant to provide insight on how you use your phone, and if it is needed, it can help you cut down on screen time.

Android P beta released for Pixels, Nokia 7 plus, Essential Phone, Xperia XZ2, other phones

Google kicked its I/O conference with an announcement related to Android Things and Android Auto, but Android P got in the spotlight as well. Along with the official launch of the new Android OS for smartphones, Google confirmed that a beta build is now available for download.

However, unlike in the previous years when these beta builds were a Google Pixel/Nexus affair, for the most part, this time the search giant has decided to make Android P beta available to additional smartphones launched by other major companies.

Apparently, this is possible due to Project Treble, which means …
