Unannounced Samsung DeX Pad leaks out, brings a Galaxy S9 with it

Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9+ (both scheduled to be announced on February 25 at MWC 2018) will be released alongside various new accessories. Among these, Samsung will launch a DeX Pad – an accessory that seemingly takes last year’s DeX Station (pictured above) to a new level.
Similar to the DeX Station, the Samsung DeX Pad will let you dock your Galaxy phone, and connect it to an external monitor and other peripherals, like a keyboard or a mouse, basically turning the handset into a PC of some sorts. However, the upcoming DeX Pad reportedly also allows you to …

Anker PowerPort Wireless 5 Stand & Pad Review

Wireless charging has notoriously been a hard sell for smartphones. While it can add convenience to your charging sessions and makes for one heck of an interesting tech demo (it’s still hard to deny how “magical” the whole thing feels), there’s also no shortage of forces working against it, from the cost of charging hardware to issues with portability. But maybe the toughest nut to crack has been compatibility.

But now at the start of 2018, things are starting to look a bit better in that regard. The format wars of Qi versus PMA are long over, but maybe more importantly …

It's true, Samsung Galaxy S9 will launch with the new DeX Pad

We reported last month that Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S9 will come with a brand new Dex Pad. Obviously, customers will be able to purchase the accessory separately, but we can’t help but wonder whether or not Samsung and/or some retailer won’t run some promotions that will offer the Galaxy S9 bundled with the DeX Pad.

In any case, it looks like that rumor was pretty accurate since we’ve just learned that Samsung trademarked the DeX Pad name in Europe. Filed on December 29, the application comes in time for a Mobile World Congress (MWC) reveal …

The T-Mobile version of the LG G Pad X 8.0 has received the December 1st security update. Besides the latter, software version V52120l brings minor software stability and bug fixes to the slate. When the notification appears on your tablet telling you that the update has arrived, don’t continue the updating process until your tablet is connected to a Wi-Fi network. In addition, make sure that the battery is charged to at least 50% before installing the new files. You also need to have enough storage on your tablet for the 95.3MB update.

Since the update is being sent out OTA, it might take …

Apple's AirPower wireless charger is running late. Enter Belkin's Boost Up pad for the iPhone 8/X

Apple’s AirPower wireless charging mat may look svelte and top up everything with the fruit logo in sight, but it’s coming much later than its announcement, so what’s a cord-cutter to do when they get their new iPhone 8, Plus or X? After all, why have fresh glass backs that pass those electrons through with ease, if not to use the new wireless charging option that Apple finally brings to its phone portfolio.

Fret not, though, as Belkin just announced a wireless charging pad called Boost Up which has been developed directly in collaboration with Apple. Utilizing the most widespread …

For $19.99, you can add wireless charging to your Apple iPhone 6 and up (charging pad required)

If the rumors are right, wireless charging is a feature that will finally be offered to iPhone users later this year. Wireless charging should be available on the 10th anniversary edition of the iPhone, and possibly the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus models. That is why glass is being used on the back cover of all three phones. The technology won’t work through a metal rear cover. And while that is all fine and dandy for those planning on purchasing a new iPhone once they become available, what about those who have an older iPhone unit?

If you own an Apple iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, …
