On Saturday, it appeared as though HTC had started pushing out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to the unlocked HTC 10. The 2016 flagship was receiving software version 3.16.617.2 and for those who didn’t want to wait, the RUU was said to be available to be downloaded by owners of the phone. But as it turns out, before even one person sporting the unlocked HTC 10 received the OTA update containing Android Oreo, it was pulled by HTC.

Global OxygenOS 5.0 OTA update for the OnePlus 5, based on Android 8.0, has been canceled

Late last month (which in turn makes it late last year), the OnePlus 5 received an OTA update that included OxygenOS 5.0. The latter is based on Android 8.0, thus giving owners of the device new capabilities like Picture-in-Picture, which allows you to watch videos while running an app in the background. Autofill completes blank fields based on how you filled out similar forms in the past. And Android Instant Apps lets you run an app from your browser without stopping to install it on your phone.

Nokia 6 receives new OTA update, here's what's changed

A new update has started rolling out for the Nokia 6. With a size of 149.3MB, the software upgrade should bump the version of HMD’s mid-ranger to 00WW_3_72A. 

Sadly, HMD’s changelog for this update is rather laconic. Verizon updates LG V20 today, has a slew of OTA updates set for tomorrow

Verizon sent out an update today for the LG V20, which contains the November Android security patch and software version VS99518A. Tomorrow, we expect to see Big Red push out updates to the Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, the LG G6, the Moto Z2 Force and the Moto Z Play. Outside of the LG V20’s support page, the nation’s largest carrier has yet to update the pages for the other smartphones receiving their OTA updates on Tuesday.

Sprint Galaxy Note 8 receives OTA patch with updates to Gallery, Calendar, Wi-Fi Calling, and more

A new OTA update has started rolling out for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 owners that purchased their device from Sprint. With a build number of N950USQU2BQJB and a size of 383MB, the new update brings quite a few changes. 

First of all, Wi-Fi Calling has been renamed to Calling Plus and packs some new and improved features. In a nutshell, Calling Plus includes all the capabilities of Wi-Fi Calling and adds the ability to make and receive calls over Sprint’s LTE network.

Galaxy Note 8 on Verizon gets its first OTA update

In case you haven’t heard, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is officially hitting the shelves today. Verizon is commemorating the occasion by releasing its first OTA update for the 6.3-inch phablet. 
The software upgrade is not identical to the one released for the international variant of the Note 8 – that one has a kernel version of 4.4.13, while Verizon’s update stands at 4.4.21. After updating, the software version of Note 8 units distributed by Verizon should stand at N950USQU1AQI5.

Android 7.1.2 Nougat factory images, OTA files released for Nexus and Pixel devices

Google has finally published the Android 7.1.2 Nougat factory images and OTA files after reports emerged the search giant is rolling out the update to the Pixel C tablet and Nexus Player.

Not long ago, the Android 7.1.2 Nougat builds for all compatible Nexus and Pixel devices made it on Google’s dev website. Keep in mind though that there are two devices that will not be getting the update, specifically the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9.

Android 7.1.2 reportedly rolling out OTA to the Pixel C Tablet

The non-beta final version of Android 7.1.2 is apparently starting to make the rounds via an OTA update.. According to one image that is being circulated, the Pixel C tablet has received the latest (and possibly last) build of Android Nougat. Next up is Android O which will supposedly take the old favorite Oreo sandwich cookie into the smartphone age.
