Official video teases Lenovo's IFA 2017 lineup, but there are no surprises

Lenovo is always present at two major European tech events, MWC (Mobile World Congress and IFA), but we’ve rarely seen the Chinese company launching new flagships at these trade fairs.

In any case, every time Lenovo’s booth at these exhibitions is quite large and we don’t doubt that will be the case at IFA 2017 too. However, this time Lenovo released a video that shows what IFA attendees will be able to see and try starting early September.

Lenovo’s Mirage Mixed Reality headset appears to be at the center of the video, but other products like the Lenovo …

Bright Black Huawei P10 Plus with glossy finish is now official

When the Huawei P10 Plus launched earlier this year, the handset was offered in Arctic White, Prestige Gold, Greenery, Dazzling Blue, Graphite Black, Dazzling Gold, Rose Gold and Moonlight Silver. This morning, a new color option has been introduced called “Bright Black,” based on Google Translate. Unlike the matte finish on the Graphite Black variant of the P10 Plus, Bright Black gives the device a glossy look.

To refresh your memory, the Huawei P10 Plus is equipped with a 5.5-inch LCD screen carrying a 1440 x 2560 resolution. There is some home cooking inside the device, which is where …

Moto X4 official press images surface along with final specs

After numerous leaks these past few weeks, we now finally have on our hands the first official press images of the Moto X4, and they are accompanied by the supposed final specs for the phone as well.

The Moto X4, which is the first new entry in the X-series since 2015, will sport a 5.2” 1080p display and it will come in two colors only—Sterling Blue and Super Black (pictured above)—which some of you may find a tad disappointing, considering the supposedly official Moto X4 render in gold that was leaked a couple of days ago.

Under the hood, the Moto X4 will …

Unknown reasons have reportedly delayed the official Android O rollout

According to a new piece of information that is floating around, Android O will get delayed due to unknown reasons, which most likely involve a ton of ironing out bugs and issues. Coming straight from Android Police’s David Ruddock, this unconfirmed new rumor basically implies that we wouldn’t see Android O get officially seeded to Pixel devices in mid-August, possibly this or next week, which was the public’s general expectation.
So, when is Android O bound to become official?
A tough question. With zero insider information …

Official: No Android 7.0 Nougat updates for Lenovo's Phab2 series

It looks like Lenovo is done with updates for the Phab2 series, even though some of the smartphones were launched less than a year ago. For some reason, the Chinese company has decided that the Phab2 Pro, the first widely-available Tango-enable smartphone, is not worth the trouble and should remain on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Along with the Phab2 Pro, four other smartphones will not receive any other major Android OS updates: Lenovo Phab, Phab Plus, Phab2, and Phab2 Plus. The first two will remain on Android 5.0 Lollipop, while the other two will not be updated …

Allegedly official iPhone 8 cases strike a pose

We’ve been seeing plenty of iPhone 8 dummies and third-party case makers’ concept images lately, but a leakster on Weibo recently posted something else altogether – iPhone 8 cases which are claimed to be the official Apple wrappers for the phone. While we can’t vouch for the validity of that claim, they do indeed feature Apple’s usual microfiber lining, have the typical “Designed by Apple in California, assembled in China” slogan inside, as well as the Apple logo on the back, and are available in a bunch of flashy colors, just like the current crop of official silicone …

Some of the most anticipated Android smartphones of the second half of 2017 are expected to be showcased at IFA 2017 in early September. However, most of them will be unveiled a few days, or even weeks, earlier.

For example, Nokia 8 will probably be announced on August 16, while Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be unveiled on August 23. Although a previous report pointed to an August 31 reveal for the LG V30, we did not receive any official word until today.

Thanks to the invitation we’ve just received in our inbox, we can confirm the LG V30 will be officially …

First official Nokia 2 pictures emerge, show front and back sides of the budget phone

Supposedly the cheapest smartphone to be launched by HMD this year, the Nokia 2 will probably be revealed later this month along with the Finnish company’s flagship, the Nokia 8.

A few sketches of the Nokia 2 leaked online last week made after a prototype unit running in the wild. Today, the phone was spotted at FCC (Federal Communications Commissions), along with a few pictures that show its front and back sides.

HMD seems to have designated model number TA-1029 to the Nokia 2. Aside from that, there aren’t any details about the phone’s specs, except maybe …
