New Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) spotted ahead of official unveil

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S3 about four months ago, but that won’t remain the only tablet the South Korean company launches this year. A mid-range slate that goes by model number SM-T385 has been recently spotted online.

Considering the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is known as Samsung SM-T350, the new tablet might be a sequel to the mid-range slate. The listing at GFXBench reveals some of its specs, such as the 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

Just like the current model, the alleged Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) sports an …

The Galaxy Note 8 won't have an in-screen fingerprint scanner, according to Samsung official

Almost everyone who’s used Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S8, will be quick to tell you just how bad the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor’s placement is. As previously reported, this seems to have been a last second decision, made necessary due to the company’s inability to produce a high-quality prototype for an in-screen scanner in time. And while we’ve hoped the technology would be ready by the time the Galaxy Note 8 enters production, a recent piece of news has just crushed those dreams into fine dust.

As reported by Korean-language publication …

Report: First official Android O update for Pixel phones expected to arrive in August

Google has already released two Android O builds for Pixel and Nexus devices, but the final version of the new OS won’t arrive until later this summer, a new report claims.

Usually, Google launches a new version of Android in fall, but it looks like this year will be an exception. According to AndroidPolice’s David Ruddock, the search giant will release the official Android O update for Pixel phones in the first or second weeks of August.

The update will be pushed OTA (over the air) to Pixel handsets, but all compatible Nexus devices are expected to receive …

Here is Apple's first official video for the new Apple iPad Pro models

With the release of a 10.5-inch Apple iPad Pro, and an updated 12.9-inch version, Apple is trying to re-energize a product that has seen better days. To be fair, the whole tablet market is floundering. Blame that on larger size phablet screens and the tendency of tablet owners not to update to a new model every two years. But Apple has added some new features to its new top-of-the-line slates, including the ability to drag and drop between apps, and split the screen so that multi-taskers can run more than one app at a time. A customizable dock remembers users’ favorite apps, making it a …

Check out Apple's official video introduction of the HomePod

This afternoon at WWDC 2017, Apple introduced its long rumored answer to the Amazon Echo. The Apple HomePod is a smart speaker that features integration with Apple Music and Siri. The latter is a very important feature since one of the major components of every smart speaker is an AI personal assistant. For example, On the Amazon Echo, that task is left to up and coming superstar Alexa. On the Harman Kardon Invoke, that job belongs to Cortana; on Google Home, well, you probably can figure that one out. So Siri handles the same chores that Alexa and Google Assistant are in charge of for …

The new 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro models are now official

As predicted, Apple has just made its latest upgrades to the iPad Pro line official at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference. The iPad Pro 12.9-inch is an upgrade to the 2015 original iPad Pro, while the smaller, 10.5-inch model supersedes last year’s 9.7-inch outing.

Unlike what some leaks have previously suggested, the standalone Touch ID is still there in its full glory, and the visual design is pretty similar to the previous generation. However, there’s some serious changes under the hood:

First of all, there’s the displays, which Apple …

Two new official videos promote features on the HTC U11

We’ve often taken pot shots at HTC’s marketing department, and quite honestly the comments were well deserved. Who could forget the alleged $12 million paid to Robert Downey Jr? The end result was one bizarre ad that probably cost HTC sales rather than add to them. Surely HTC wishes that it had that $12 million back. Hipster Troll Carwash indeed. And the subsequent ad for the HTC One (M8) that starred Gary Oldman was just as ineffective.

Today, HTC posted two new video promos on YouTube dealing with some of the features on the recently introduced HTC U11. Both videos are a major improvement …
