Rugged Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 is now official; tablet will launch later this month

Just a few days ago, we passed along some images of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2. Today, the tablet has been officially introduced by Samsung. With the Active name attached to the slate, you can expect the device to survive “excessive pressure, temperatures, environments, vibration and drops.” The Galaxy Tab Active 2 is certified to meet military specifications. And with an IP certification rating of IP68, the tablet can be submerged in up to nearly 5-feet of water for up to 30-minutes and escape unscathed. The display will even work with wet fingers.

It's official: HTC U11 Plus will be unveiled on November 2

HTC has just confirmed it will hold a launch event in early November. Last week, Chinese media reported HTC had started to send invitations to such an event, but the Taiwanese company did not confirm anything until today.

Official: There will be no Android 8.0 Oreo updates for NVIDIA Shield Tablet and Tablet K1

Nvidia probably thinks there aren’t enough Shield Tablet or Tablet K1 units out there to worth pouring some resources into upgrading them to Android 8.0 Oreo. Or maybe, the fact that both tablets were launched more than two years ago weighed heavily on Nvidia’s decision.

Samsung just announced that two if its newest Gear devices –
the Gear Sport and Gear IconX 2018 – will be released in the US on October 27. Interested
customers can pre-order both products starting tomorrow, October 13.

ZTE's foldable smartphone spotted at FCC one week ahead of official announcement

“Axon M” seems to be the name ZTE picked for its first foldable smartphone. Information about the said device emerged online last month, although it didn’t come through official channels.
