Moto Z2 Play retail box surfaces along with new pictures of the phone

Last week, a high resolution image of the Moto Z2 Play was discovered, along with an advertisement indicating that the device will be unveiled on June 1st. Even before the phone has been made official, there are some who are disappointed with Lenovo’s decision to use a 3000mAh battery on the device. That is a 15% decline from the 3510mAh cell used on the original Moto Z Play. The Snapdragon 626 chipset replaces the Snapdragon 625 that powered the Moto Z Play, and should be just as miserly with battery consumption. Despite the lower capacity battery, the Moto Z2 Play should still provide …

Motorola is expected to introduce at least two new mid-range smartphones in the second half of the year, the Moto G5S and its bigger Plus brother.

Since we’ve been given the opportunity to admire both smartphones thanks to the leaked press renders, but we did not have the chance to see them in action. Well, not really in action, but we can definitely get a better idea of what’s to come from a live picture rather than a press render.

Motorola confirms Android Wear 2.0 is coming to the Moto 360 2nd Gen “as early as today”

The original Moto 360 is one of the few popular smartwatches that won’t be getting the new Android Wear 2.0 update, Motorola announced last year.

The bad news is the sequel to the Moto 360 hasn’t yet received the update, even though many other less popular smartwatches have already been upgraded to Android Wear 2.0. However, the situation is about to change if we are to believe the latest statement coming directly from Motorola.

As some of you probably know by know by now, Motorola promised to push the Android Wear 2.0 update to the Moto 360 2nd Gen in “late …

Moto G5S+ leak shows off all possible color options to be made available

Yesterday, we passed along to you images alleged to be those of the Moto G5S. Apparently, the only difference between the Moto G5 and Moto G5S is that the latter will feature an all-metal body. The regular version sports a plastic back and sides. Today, images of the Moto G5S + have been unveiled; not only can we see all of the possible color options being made available to consumers, we can see that the handset comes with a dual-camera setup on back.

The first we heard about the Moto G5S and Moto G5S+ was earlier this month when an “alphabetical road map” for the Moto line was leaked during …

Android Authority has gotten hold of these images (click or tap to zoom) of the upcoming Moto G5S, allegedly obtained from a trusted source with knowledge of Lenovo’s plans. The smartphone is shown in grey, gold, and blue color options. From a design perspective, the only differentiation between the Moto G5S and the Moto G5 or G5 Plus is the full metal body, whereas the aforementioned models have aluminum back plates and plastic sides.

It isn’t clear if there are any hardware changes to go along with the updated, more premium look. The original Moto G5 sports a …

Lenovo: Moto Z2 Play will feature a 3000 mAh battery

Although the Moto Z2 series of smartphones has not been announced, Lenovo confirmed its existence on Twitter. More exactly, answering a question from a fan, yesterday, Lenovo mentioned the Moto Z2 Play – an upcoming smartphone that should replace the original Moto Z Play (released last year).

The only thing that Lenovo revealed about the Moto Z2 Play is that the handset would come with a “non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery.” This confirms a previous rumor, and means that the new battery will, sadly, be less capacious than the battery found inside the original Moto Z Play (a 3,510 mAh …

Moto Z2 Play is certified in China: 5.5-inch screen, 4GB RAM and 20% lower battery capacity

The Moto Z Play has made a name for itself thanks to the 3510mAh battery it sports. Add to that large capacity cell the power sipping Snapdragon 625 chipset that is found under the hood, and you have a phone that allows you to walk right past the outlets in your home, the office, the airports, or in the library. But the sequel to the phone, the Moto Z2 Play, is apparently not going to give users the same opportunity to go without a charge for two to three days.

With the Moto Z2 Play getting certified by Chinese regulatory agency TENAA (which is similar to the FCC in the U.S.) we understand …
