Black Ceramic version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 goes on sale

The all ceramic version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 won’t scratch as much as the standard model, which features an aluminum frame (and some ceramic as well). It also has just the right amount of heft to it. A version of the all ceramic Mi Mix 2 in white was released last month, and today the same model in black is being offered in China, priced at ¥4699. That is equivalent to $702 USD at current exchange rates.

While the original Mi Mix was more of a proof of concept, it did kick off the current so-called bezel-less phone era that has spawned handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S8, the Essential …

Take that notch and shove it in the display's corner: check out the leaked fully bezel-less Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s

2017 was the year when two major events happened in the smartphone world: the fall of the bezel and the rise of the notch. We are talking, of course, about manufacturers slimming out the frame around their phone screens more and more. As a result, some were forced to put their selfie cameras and other front-facing sensors in a cutaway in the display’s real estate, which is now affectionately called “the notch”. You may have seen it on the iPhone X, but the Essential Phone is also notable for featuring the little bundle of love.

Manufacturers that don’t have “the notch” will have a bit of …

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Review

Introduction
In 2016, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi introduced a smartphone which was among the first to spur the all-screen craze we’re observing today. The name of this unusual device was the Xiaomi Mi Mix. The gigantic phablet stood out with its “tri-bezel-less” 6.4-inch screen and attractive ceramic back plate, but unfortunately, it was hard to acquire for anyone living outside of China.

Luckily, Xiaomi has recently released a follow-up to the handset which grabbed our attention a little less than 12 months ago. The new Mi Mix 2 comes with many of the traits which made its predecessor …

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 battery life test is a step down

We are putting the successor of the phone that arguably started the bezel-less talk back in 2016, Xiaomi Mi Mix, through its review paces, and finding great improvements in all areas like design, interface speed or camera quality, but battery life won’t be one of those, it seems. Unlike the huge 4400 mAh battery pack of its predecessor, the Mi Mix 2 comes with a much smaller 3400 mAh battery, and it showed when we ran it through our grueling endurance benchmark. Despite having a 10nm Snapdragon 835 processor, and a 1080p, instead of QHD resolution display, the Mi Mix 2 …

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 unboxing

Last year’s Xiaomi Mi Mix was a revolutionary device, and arguably the one that kickstarted the industry’s new obsession with eliminating bezels. So to literally no one’s surprise, Xiaomi decided to release a successor this year.
But the Mi Mix 2 isn’t one to stay in its predecessor’s shadow for too long — it features upgraded specs, improved materials, and—of course—reduced bezels. And here’s the best part: it supports pretty much any band you can think of, making it suitable for use even in the United States.
And now we’ve …

Android One-powered Xiaomi Mi A1 now available for purchase in select European markets

The Mi A1 is one of the few mid-range Xiaomi smartphones that will go on sale internationally. Even though Android One program has been more of a local affair, as Android One phones are specifically launched in certain countries, Xiaomi Mi A1 doesn’t care about that unspoken rule.

The Chinese company announced last month the Android One-powered Mi A1 will be launched in many countries in Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa, as well as Americas. Starting this week, the affordable mid-range smartphone is available for purchase in several European countries …

Xiaomi joins the Wireless Power Consortium; Mi 7 could feature wireless charging

Once known as China’s Apple, Xiaomi is apparently following in Apple’s footsteps when it comes to wireless charging. The 2017 iPhone models all support wireless charging for the first time, and apparently the next Xiaomi flagship model will too. Today, the Chinese manufacturer apparently joined the Wireless Power Consortium, the group of tech firms that have the goal of promoting the Qi wireless charging platform.

Apple joined the consortium in February, and while Xiaomi hasn’t made an official announcement, the company is listed on the WPC website as a member. As a result, we would expect …

Cell Phone Recon Product Review – Track Your Child's Cell Phone

Cell Phone Recon Product Review

Product Overview:

Cell Phone Recon is software that gives you the ability to secretly monitor your cell phone. The software logs all of your incoming and outgoing text messages, call history, and emails. The software will also allow you to track your phone location via GPS, so if you lose your phone, or just want to check its location, you can easily find it. Perfect for monitoring your child’s phone, or even your spouse’s phone. Use to investigate suspicious behavior, or to get peace of mind.

The software is installed in “stealth mode” and runs completely hidden in the background, meaning that there are no traces of the monitoring software on your phone.

To view the logged information, simply log into the administration panel via any internet browser, and every text message, email, and ingoing/outgoing phone number will be listed. In addition, the exact street address will be listed next to each text message, phone call, or email, letting you know exactly where the phone was when any of those activities were logged.

For example, if your child text messages or calls you and says they are staying late at school to study, you can check to make sure they are really where they say they are.

Installation and Setup:

Installation is straightforward and simple. Cell Phone Recon comes with an installation web address and license key. Go to the web address on the mobile browser on your cell phone, enter the provided license key, and the phone will install the Cell Phone Recon software. Installation takes just a couple minutes, and when complete, the Cell Phone Recon software will be actively tracking and monitoring the activity on your chid’s cell phone.

Operation:

While the software is operating on your phone, you won’t see any notifications, windows, or indications that that all of your text messages, emails, calls, and GPS location is being monitored. This is for both ease of use and stealth operation. Phone activity is invisibly transmitted via your phone’s data connection.

Each product license can be installed only on one phone at a time, so if you get a new phone, or need to monitor a different phone, just uninstall the software, and re-install it on a new phone.

Viewing Phone History and GPS Location:

Reviewing call logs, emails, text messages, and logged GPS data from your phone is also straightforward. Log in to your administration panel on any internet browser with your username and password, and all of the data is presented to you in an easy to read table format. You can even sort the table by date, time, address, or phone number.

You can also export the logged phone data to a CSV file (used by Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet programs) for a quick and easy backup of all your phone usage history.

The GPS tracking feature has another convenient purpose – it records the location of where the phone is at when a particular logged action took place. So if you call your child, and they tell you they are staying late after school, you can verify this by looking at the location on a map. You can also see where the phone was when it sent or received a text message or email.

Compatibility:

Cell Phone Recon is compatible with most major smartphone brands – Blackberry, Android, Windows Mobile, and Symbian OS. It has been tested to work with T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and many other US carriers. The one major smartphone that the Cell Phone Recon is not yet compatible with is the Apple iPhone, due to the fact that all programs that run on the iPhone must be approved and sold through Apple’s App Store. If you are looking to monitor an iPhone, you would need a product such as the iPhone Recovery iSpy Stick.

Pros:

  • Stealth operation for covert monitoring
  • Monitors and records all ingoing/outgoing emails, call history, text messages, and emails
  • View logged information from any internet browser
  • View GPS location of phone on Google Maps
  • Works on almost all major cell phone brands and service providers
  • One-time license fee gets you 5 years of unlimited monitoring

Cons:

  • Unable to work on Apple iPhone

Summary:

Overall, the Cell Phone Recon offers a very comprehensive set of cell phone monitoring features. With the ability to log every incoming and outgoing text message, email, detailed call history, and GPS location, this product is a very useful piece of monitoring software for smartphone owners.

Legal Disclaimer:

Cell Phone Recon can only be used to monitor phones that you own, for example, your child or spouse’s cell phone that you pay for. Using this software on a phone that is NOT yours may be illegal. Check all applicable state, local, and federal laws before using this product if you are unsure whether or not your intended use is legal.
