Cricket vs MetroPCS, Straight Talk, Boost and Project Fi prepaid plan prices

All major carriers have had those crappy prepaid phones for a while now, for folks who don’t really have the wherewithal to endure two-year contracts, or the credit history to get a subsidized expensive phone with set monthly outlays. The death of two-year contracts forced them to rethink the prepaid conundrum, too, and these plans are now much better priced, plus the phones offered are no longer scraping the bottom of the specs barrel.

Sometimes, however, going the MVNO route is still the only way to get unlimited data at reasonable pricing on your favorite carrier of choice. Not only …

Switch to pre-paid carrier MetroPCS and get 2 free months of unlimited service

There is nothing like the word “free.” And when it is used to describe a promotion, the word sounds even better. For example, let’s use “free” in a sentence. For a limited time only, you can bring your number to pre-paid carrier MetroPCS and receive two free months of unlimited service. MetroPCS will even hook you up with a free (there’s that word again) phone from top line manufacturers like Samsung, LG, and Motorola.

Here’s how this works. Port your number over to MetroPCS and choose from one of three options. There is the $50 a month plan, which includes unlimited LTE service. For $60 …

Score free phones from MetroPCS and T-Mobile for a limited time only

The loveliest two words in the English language are “free phones.” And both T-Mobile and its pre-paid MetroPCS unit are saying those two words to consumers with some new deals. Take T-Mobile’s pre-paid MetroPCS unit. Starting today you can switch to MetroPCS, port over your eligible phone number, sign up for a plan offering unlimited data, and you will receive an instant $150 credit toward the purchase of any phone. That means that moving to Metro could help you score a free 32GB Apple iPhone SE, which is usually priced at $149.

If you’re already a MetroPCS subscriber, don’t feel left out; …

Switch to MetroPCS and get 4 lines of unlimited LTE data for $100

MetroPCS, a T-Mobile prepaid brand since 2013, has a tempting offer for anyone willing to ditch a competing US carrier in 2018. If you switch to MetroPCS and port-in your number, you can get four lines of unlimited monthly LTE data, talk, and text for $100 – that’s just $25 per line. You can even add a 5th line at just $25 per month, but not a 6th one. There’s a downside to all this, as tethering (aka sharing your internet connection) is not available. Even so, we’d say this is a nice deal for families.
If you don’t need four lines of service, MetroPCS …

LG Aristo 2 goes official at MetroPCS, priced to sell for $60

As expected, the LG Aristo 2 has just made its debut at MetroPCS and you can get it for a great price: $60. Although the smartphone usually costs $140, the carrier offers a $30 instant discount and $50 mail-in rebate, so you’ll be saving $80.

When it comes to specs, everything seems to come in line with our previous report. LG Aristo 2 comes with a 5-inch display with HD (720p) resolution, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a secondary 5-megapixel camera with Auto Shot and Gesture Shot.

On the inside, the budget-friendly smartphone packs a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, …

LG Aristo 2 for MetroPCS appears in unboxing video ahead of unveiling

LG Aristo 2 is the next budget-friendly smartphone that will hit US carriers in the coming weeks. A picture showing the handset’s sales package was published less than a week ago, so we know a little bit about the device that should be launched by T-Mobile.

Recently, a full unboxing video showing the LG Aristo 2 from all angles appeared on YouTube. Even though it’s certainly an entry-level smartphone, the Aristo 2 features a stylish look thanks to the premium finish.

Apparently, the smartphone will go on sale at MetroPCS as well, though we still don’t …

MetroPCS customer jailed after pre-paid carrier's employee spots child porn on phone

55-year old Orlando Chang figured he had a fairly quiet day ahead. He planned on visiting a nearby MetroPCS store to trade in his current smartphone for a new model. Little did he know that by the end of the day, he would find himself arrested on 11 counts of possession of child pornography. The arrest warrant explained how Chang popped into a MetroPCS store in Coral Gables, seeking to swap his old handset for a new one.

The MetroPCS employee who was assigned the task of moving over the contacts and photos from Chang’s old handset to his new one made a rather startling discovery. …

It’s a …

Get your unlimited on with MetroPCS; $50 a month for all the high-speed data you can eat

It is hard to believe that it was all the way back on May Day 2013 when T-Mobile made its play for MetroPCS. At the time, T-Mobile wasn’t the fearless Un-carrier that it is now. And MetroPCS was your typical pre-paid carrier, hoping to pick up business from consumers who couldn’t afford postpaid service. But things have changed. You no longer have to put up with a wink-wink-nudge-nudge from your friends because you use a pre-paid carrier.

Think of the changes that have overtaken T-Mobile since 2013 started. In January, the wireless operator was about to turn on its 4G LTE network in …

Motorola Moto E4 will cost just $49 at MetroPCS (or $0 if you switch)

Released last month as one of Motorola’s cheapest smartphones ever, the Moto E4 is currently sold for around $100 if you’re buying it unlocked, or just $69.99 if you want to get it from Verizon. Starting July 31, the handset will be available for even less thanks to MetroPCS (T-Mobile’s prepaid brand).

MetroPCS will sell the Moto E4 for only $49 (plus tax) after rebate, no contract required. Or, if you switch to MetroPCS with a qualifying number, you’ll be able to get the new phone for free (after instant rebate) plus tax.

The Moto E4 is definitely a product …
