Dual SIM Galaxy S9 and S9+ models listed, may sport dual VoLTE as well

Not that it comes as a huge surprise, but the Galaxy S9 may land with a dual SIM version for those who need hooking up to more than one carrier or plan. Samsung has filed for regulatory approval of a dual SIM handset denoted as SM-G9608, with the “8” in the end standing for a Taiwan model.

There are two more dual SIM versions listed there, too – an SM-G9600 for China, and the eventual Galaxy S9+, with an entry number SM-G9650. Given that the Galaxy S8 is SM-G950, and the S8+ is marked as SM-G955, there is every chance that these dual SIM devices listed in the databases …

Galaxy X foldable phone gets listed in Samsung support

Where there’s smoke there may be fire, too. Samsung’s alleged foldable phone (no, not that one), dubbed tentatively Galaxy X, already got certification from the Bluetooth SIG, and from South Korea’s National Radio Agency, but it is now getting much closer to reality, as Samsung itself included the unorthodox SM-G888N0 model in the support section of its Korean website. Does that mean that we are to expect the announcement and pilot launch of the Galaxy X first on its home soil?
Probably, and there might only be 100,000 units produced to gauge acceptance …

Nokia 2 briefly listed by US retailer, priced to sell for just $99

After HMD introduced another Android smartphone a few days ago, the Nokia 7, there are only two other handsets we’re now expecting the Finnish company to reveal in the coming months.

The two upcoming smartphones belong to completely opposite price categories. While the Nokia 9 will be HMD’s next flagship, the Nokia 2 is supposed to be the company’s cheapest smartphone to date.

And the good news is there’s a high chance that it will be coming to the United States at some point. Major retailer B&H briefly listed the Nokia 2 on its website, along with information …

New 4K Apple TV with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support listed in HomePod code

Thanks, leaked HomePod firmware, for all the scoops you have given us so far, but can you give us more? Sure, said the HomePod code, and spat out a few more nuggets, this time about an upcoming Apple TV upgrade. The firmware code references not only the long-awaited 4K definition output by Apple’s “hockey puck” TV dongle, but also support for the trendy HDR10, and even Dolby Vision wide color standards, if you happen to be in possession of such a UHD TV.

The iPhone 8, and perhaps the other two upcoming iPhones, were listed by the firmware to record 60FPS 4K video with both …

Essential Phone gets listed on Best Buy, Sprint version costs $50 more than unlocked (Updated)

UPDATE: Best Buy has removed the $749 pricing from the listing. It now only shows the Sprint Essential Phone as “Coming soon”, which leads us to believe that the figure was either inaccurate or merely a placeholder.

When it comes to the whole “getting released in the promised timeframe” thing, Andy Rubin’s Essential Phone is a bit of a failure — it’s been just short of a month since we reported that the PH-1 is running late, and yet the device is still nowhere to be found.

However, we have seen a vague promise of the …

Nokia 8 was apparently listed on an official Nokia website (but not for long)

Expected to be officially announced at the end of this month, on July 31, the Nokia 8 will (probably) become the very first high-end Nokia smartphone since the brand has been resurrected.

While HMD Global and Nokia haven’t confirmed anything about the upcoming handset, we’ve already seen renders allegedly showing it. What’s more, it looks like today, for a brief period of time, Nokia inadvertently listed the new smartphone on its official Chinese website.

Right now, there’s no mention of the Nokia 8 on Nokia’s Chinese website, but some fans say the handset was definitely spotted …

Samsung Galaxy Note 7R is listed for sale in China

Not too many people get to pull off an amazing comeback by seizing victory from the jaws of defeat. Off the top of our heads, the 1986 New York Mets come to mind. One strike away from losing the World Series to the Boston Red Sox in six games, the Mets overcame a two-run deficit with an amazing victory. The next night, the team won the World Series in seven games. Then, there is the Miami Heat. Down by three with seconds left in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals against the Spurs, Chris Bosh grabbed the rebound off a missed three point shot from LeBron James, and casually fed the ball to Ray Allen …
