HTC to launch an Android One version of U11 Life (aka Ocean Life)

After rumors revealed Motorola’s plans to introduce an Android One smartphone in the United States in the form of a slightly modified X4, we’re now being tipped about another major company that has similar plans.

HTC is expected to launch an Android One version of its unreleased HTC U11 Life, also known as Ocean Life. The smartphones will feature similar designs and specs, but the Android One model will come with Android stock on board.

None of the HTC apps will be included on the Android One variant of HTC U11 Life. Moreover, the smartphone will run Android Oreo with Sense 9.0_A1 …

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 gets certified, expect it to launch very soon

We reported a few months ago that the sequel to the entry-level rugged tablet by Samsung, the Galaxy Tab Active is in the works and that it might be coming soon. Well, it looks like the slate is now one more step closer to release, although we doubt Samsung will hold a launch event just for the Galaxy Tab Active 2.

The US regulatory commission (FCC) has just certified Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Active 2, which goes by model numbers SM-T390 (LTE) and SM-T395 (Wi-Fi only). For the time being, it’s the Wi-Fi only version that got approved by the Federal Communications Commission, but we’re confident …

The gold iPhone X might be extremely hard to find at launch, according to analyst

Tomorrow, September 12, Apple will (likely) announce three
brand new iPhone models, probably including an iPhone X – the company’s very
first handset to sport an OLED display. Apple fans (and maybe not only) are certainly excited about
this iPhone X, especially since it’s supposed to be the only one among the new
models to have thin bezels around its display. Unfortunately, just as
previously reported, it looks like the iPhone X will be hard to find at launch.

According to well-informed KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, less
than 10,000 iPhone X units are being produced daily. Obviously, this …

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (FE) sold out two months after launch

The refurbished Galaxy Note 7, also known as Fan Edition, made its debut in South Korea in early July. Two months after its launch, the phablet appears to be sold out and Samsung doesn’t have any plans to sell more Galaxy Note 7 (FE) units on its home turf.

Sources familiar with Samsung’s plans claim the company is still considering overseas releases for the Galaxy Note 7 (FE) after selling about 400,000 devices in South Korea.

Samsung has put a price tag of around $620 on the Galaxy Note 7 (FE), about $265 cheaper than the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 model. …

Xiaomi Mi 5X global launch set for September 5

Xiaomi’s dual-camera flagship, the Mi 5X, was introduced in China about one month ago, but the smartphone is not available in other countries. Although Xiaomi sells many of its smartphones in India and other Asian countries, some remain China-exclusive.

But the Xiaomi Mi 5X will not remain China-exclusive for too long since the handset vendor announced it will expand its availability globally starting September 5. Xiaomi recently teased a special event for that date, where it says a “flagship dual camera” device will be launched globally.

Although the …

Samsung quietly unveils the Gear Fit 2 Pro just ahead of the Galaxy Note 8 launch event

As we’re speaking, Samsung is getting ready to launch its next flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 8, but that’s not the only mobile device the company will be presenting soon. We’ve also been hearing rumors of a successor to the company’s Gear Fit 2 for quite some time now — in fact, we’ve already seen leaked renders and specs of the device.

However, the device seems to have just quietly gone official, as Samsung’s Spanish and Malaysian websites now have the device’s official promo pages up for anyone to see — which is a bit weird …

On launch day, BlackBerry's enterprise software and apps will be ready for iOS 11

Even back in those olden days of yesteryear before BlackBerry hopped into bed with Google, the company’s BES software was able to track a company’s fleet of mobile devices regardless of whether these devices ran on iOS, Android, Windows or BlackBerry. And while today’s BlackBerry handsets are powered by Android, the beat goes on as far as BlackBerry’s enterprise software and mobile apps are concerned.

BlackBerry released a statement today that indicates that the company’s Enterprise Mobility Suite and apps are all ready to update to iOS 11 versions the moment that the next build of Apple’s …

Google to launch new Chromebook Pixel, smaller Google Home along with new smartphones

It’s not over until the fat lady sings, they say. After recently introducing Android Oreo to the world, Google still has some surprises left in the second half of the year. As many handset makers are ready to announce their new flagships, Google is expected to launch two new Pixel smartphones in October.

Google’s hardware event hasn’t been announced yet but based on previous experiences, it will happen in mid-fall. But the hardware event won’t just introduce to the world Google’s new Android smartphones, as a new report claims the Mountain View company has a few …
