WWDC 2018 could be held June 4th-8th in San Jose

Apple has yet to announce the date and location of its annual WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) event. However, Apple has a habit of sticking with a venue once it finds one it likes. For example, between 2003 and 2016 Apple held the event at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Last year, WWDC was held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, and a person familiar with Apple’s plans says that it will be held at the same location this year.

Report: LG's 2018 flagship to feature 6.1-inch screen, SD-845 inside; June launch possible

According to a report published today, LG’s delayed flagship phone could be launched in June. An anonymous source, who was briefed on LG’s plans to release a smartphone with the code name “Judy,” says that the handset will feature a 6.1-inch screen. This will be a new type of display called MLCD+. Thanks to a white sub-pixel that will be part of the RGBW matrix, the display will be very bright (in the 800-nit range) but consume 35% less energy than a typical IPS LCD screen.

Fitbit to end Pebble support in June, offers $50 discount to all users

After launching its first ever wearable device powered by its proprietary OS – the Ionic, Fitbit announced that it has decided to discontinue support for Pebble effective June 30, 2018.

The wording of the announcements is a bit different, as Fitbit actually says that it will extend its support of the Pebble smartwatch ecosystem for six more months. Until this period expires, all those who still own such a wearable device are urged to check out how the Pebble ecosystem is evolving on the Fitbit platform.

AT&T rolls out Galaxy S7 update that adds June security patch, Knox and Messaging fixes

While many handset makers are already pushing updates that contain the newest July security patch, U.S. carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T are rolling out the last month security update.

AT&T has just confirmed that a new update is now available for Samsung Galaxy S7. Aside from the June security patch, the update brings a couple of fixes and improvements that are meant to further enhance users experience and phone’s performance.

June security update coming to Sony Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra

Sony Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra owners should feel a little more secure following the latest OTA update sent out to the 2017 mid-range duo. The firmware patch contains the Android security patch for the month of June and should bump the build number of the XA1 and XA1 Ultra to 40.0.A.5.66 and 42.0.A.3.30, respectively.
