Just like every other month, U.S. carrier T-Mobile has teamed up with Samsung to provide customers with a new security update to make sure their smartphones are safe from any possible exploits. Google recently released the July security patch for its Nexus and Pixel devices, but Nokia 6 was among the first smartphones to receive the update.

AT&T rolls out Galaxy S7 update that adds June security patch, Knox and Messaging fixes

While many handset makers are already pushing updates that contain the newest July security patch, U.S. carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T are rolling out the last month security update.

AT&T has just confirmed that a new update is now available for Samsung Galaxy S7. Aside from the June security patch, the update brings a couple of fixes and improvements that are meant to further enhance users experience and phone’s performance.

June security update coming to Sony Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra

Sony Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra owners should feel a little more secure following the latest OTA update sent out to the 2017 mid-range duo. The firmware patch contains the Android security patch for the month of June and should bump the build number of the XA1 and XA1 Ultra to 40.0.A.5.66 and 42.0.A.3.30, respectively.

Samsung drops, Apple hops, LG flops: US market share in June

On this last day of the month, analyst shop Wave7 Research ran some numbers for how the big two – Apple and Samsung – fared in the past four weeks at various US carriers and retailers. Samsung, it turns out, has flatlined a bit after the initial surge owing to the release of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ flagships, and Apple has taken advantage. The reason? According to analytical firm Wave7, Sprint’s BOGO promotion on leased Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus units have helped Apple score a strong June in U.S. sales. Apple’s chief rival, Samsung, benefited from a strong start for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+. BlackBerry KEYone pre-orders sell out in Japan; phone to launch on June 29th

With the BlackBerry KEYone set for a June 29th launch in Japan, pre-orders of the phone have sold out in the country. Actually, it took about an hour for the Android flavored handset to find a buyer for every unit up for pre-order. BlackBerry Mobile is offering the latest ‘Berry through a partnership with Fox. Inc. and Caseplay. On the latter’s website, the KEYone is listed at a price of 69,800 Japanese Yen, which translates into $623.41 USD at current exchange rates.
