Samsung, KDDI run multi-device 5G test at a Japanese ballpark using prototype tablets

Samsung and KDDI together ran a successful multi-device test of next-gen 5G connectivity, using prototype tablets supporting the faster network. The test was conducted at Okinawa Cellular Stadium, a ballpark with capacity for 30,000 fans, and the results were announced today. This was the first trial in Japan to test 5G connectivity using 5G tablets. A 4K live video feed was downloaded and streamed simultaneously on these 5G slates using the millimeter wave spectrum.

You can now learn Japanese on your iPhone with Duolingo

You can now learn Japanese with popular language app Duolingo for iPhone.
The most requested language course for English speakers has finally arrived in the application, and like all other courses, it’s completely free. Curiously enough, support for the Japanese course is only available for the iPhone version of the Duolingo app, but not for the Android platform.
With this new pair, Duolingo now supports 23 languages to learn including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and others.

No, a Japanese man wasn't crushed to death by his porn collection


The story does make for a very catchy headline: lonely Japanese man gets crushed to death by his six-ton porn magazine collection. 

But that story is incorrect, as a look at Japanese media shows. 

The Daily Mail ran the initial story with the headline “Porn really is bad for you! Lonely Japanese man who amassed a SIX-TON pile of dirty magazines died when it collapsed on top of him… and his body wasn’t found for six months.”

It went viral, for obvious, morbid reasons, and was picked up by Sky News Australia, The Mirror, The Toronto Sun, CBS Philly and LADBible among others.  Read more…
