For the last few months, Samsung has been hard at work on bringing Android 8.0 Oreo to the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The Korean tech giant launched a public beta for the 2017 flagship pair and managed to dish out multiple test builds before closing the program on January 26th. Apple's HomePod smart speaker gains FCC approval; launch could be imminent

Amazon and Google made good use of the delay that forced Apple to push back the launch of its HomePod smart speaker from December to sometime early this year. Echo and Home devices helped smart speakers have a very Merry Christmas and Chanukah. The relatively new product (first launched worldwide in 2015) accounted for 7% of gifts handed out this holiday season in the states.

Without Apple’s high-end HomePod out of the way, both Amazon and Google had a clear playing field. While Microsoft’s Invoke was available, along with a few other competitors, the top two smart speaker manufacturers …

The four major U.S. carriers usually hold a conference call on the phone with analysts and financial reporters immediately following the release of their latest quarterly earnings report. This morning, when T-Mobile announced its Q3 numbers, it cancelled the conference call. Wells Fargo said that the nation’s third largest carrier wanted to “let the 3Q results speak for themselves.” But that might not be the real reason for the cancellation.

A little bit after T-Mobile cancelled its conference call, the wireless operator’s rumored merger partner Sprint revealed that it will report its third …
