Huawei Mate 10 Pro Review

Boy has it been one busy fall season so far! All the major players in the smartphone space have announced their offerings for the upcoming holiday season, including Huawei, who is banking on the Mate 10 Pro to make a splash stateside. On paper, Huawei’s high-end is looking like a solid contender, but it is surely going to face stiff competition from direct rivals in the space – the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, LG V30, Google Pixel 2 XL, and Apple iPhone X, to name a few. So let’s find out how the Huawei Mate 10 Pro will fit into the mix.

Amazon, Best Buy, B&H take $100 off the Huawei Mate 9; sale price is $399.99

Yesterday, we passed along some talk about AT&T possibly carrying the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. And yes, this is a fabulously well-spec’d and good looking device. But if there is one thing we’ve learned this year, it is that well-spec’d phones that turn heads also turn wallets; inside out that is. The Mate 10, which like the Mate 10 Pro is probably weeks away from a stateside launch, will also be on the pricey side. But if you want a phone that still performs, and makes the average Joe/Jill swoon with a glance, you might want to grab the Huawei Mate 9, now on sale from three retailers.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro reportedly headed to AT&T

One of Huawei’s newest high-end smartphones, the Mate 10 Pro, might be released via AT&T in the coming months. According to XDA, which
obtained some firmware files revealing pre-installed AT&T apps on a Mate 10
Pro, the handset won’t be sold by any other US carrier, so it’s going to be an AT&T exclusive product.

We know that the Mate 10 Pro will cost €799 in Europe, where it should be released in mid-November. In the US, the smartphone
could be offered for $799, but it may not be launched before the end of the
year. A report from August had it that Huawei and …

Huawei could start selling its own "Made for Huawei" accessories

Undoubtedly, Huawei is one of the biggest smartphone makers in the world, as the Chinese company sells millions of handsets every year. To increase the margin profit of its products, Huawei has decided to start developing some components in-house. Huawei’s Kirin chipsets are inside most of its flagships, but lately, they have been embedded in some of the company’s mid-range smartphones.

It looks like the next step for Huawei would start making accessories for its smartphones. Well, we could say the Chinese company might be tempted to follow in Apple’s footsteps …

Huawei breaking records in 2017, over 100 million smartphones shipped so far

Chinese manufacturer Huawei has managed to ship over 100 million smartphones for the first three quarters of 2017. This translates to a year-over-year increase of 19%, which means that the company has a very high chance of surpassing the 140 million units it shipped in 2016.

Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business group, said that this exponential growth has managed to increase the firm’s operating revenues by more than 30% from January to September. The executive also mentioned that Huawei will seek further expansion by introducing …

Will the Chinese government take away the cellular connectivity of the new Huawei Watch 2 Pro?

The first Android Wear powered smartwatch that uses an eSIM has been introduced by Huawei. The Huawei Watch 2 Pro uses an embedded SIM card which allows the timepiece to connect by itself to a cellular network. With the device, users can make phone calls, send and receive texts, go online and more, all without pairing to a smartphone. The timepiece, which does bare a resemblance to the older “classic” model, carries a 1.2-inch AMOLED screen, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100. 768GB of RAM is inside along with 4GB of native storage. Android Wear 2.0 is pre-installed.

Huawei has a "working" foldable phone, could release it next year

Huawei, which recently announced the interesting Mate 10
smartphone series, has exciting plans for the next few years. According to
Cnet, the company is working on a foldable phone that could be released as
early as 2018 – perhaps at about the same time with Samsung’s long-rumored Galaxy X foldable
phone.

Huawei CEO Richard Yu confirmed to Cnet that the company
actually has a “working sample” of its upcoming foldable handset. However,
the device needs improvements related to mechanical design, plus “better, more flexible
screen technology” in order to become a product that’s ready …

Huawei Mate 10 Pro receives update to kill "Google bug"

Yesterday, during the Huawei event that introduced officially the Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro to the world, some of the attendees noticed that the Mate 10 Pro review samples handed out by the manufacturer were running hot, and the 4000mAh battery was draining too fast. Huawei blamed it on Google, calling it the “Google bug.” Google said that it was working feverishly to fix the problem.

The good news is that the doctor has written the prescription and at the tender age of < 1 day, the Mate 10 Pro has received an update that exterminates the bug, at least according to Huawei. …

Huawei Mate 10 Pro hands-on: The questionable "Pro" model

Forging a similar strategy as its competitors, Chinese maker Huawei is bringing a one-two punch with its latest devices in the Mate series this upcoming holiday season. Just like Apple and Google before them, with their new iPhones and Pixels, the new Huawei Mate 10 smartphones are largely two slightly different devices. On one hand, you have the standard Mate 10, while on the other, we have its slightly beefier sibling in the Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

Naturally, the “Pro” attachment once again indicates it’s going to have a few tricks up its sleeves that you won’t find in …
