It is the first Honor handset to feature the FullView Display with a high screen-to-body ratio over 77%. The 5.93-inch screen carries a 1080 x 2160 FHD+ resolution, which works out to an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Kirin 659 chipset is under the hood, and keeping the lights on is a 3340mAh battery.

Despite the fact that Honor 8 will not be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo, the smartphone keeps getting new features and improvements. It’s true that the Chinese company may change its mind and decide, by popular demand, that the Honor 8 is worth of a major software upgrade, but until then, let’s see what the newest update brings into the mix.

First off, there’s a new 3D panorama mode that will allow Honor 8 owners to shot 3D dynamic images. The new mode can be accessed via the Camera app, so you’ll have no issues in triggering it whenever you want.

Honor View 10 update adds Face Unlock and other nifty features

Unveiled last month, Honor View 10 made its debut on the market a few weeks ago. Even though the smartphone ships with Android 8.0 Oreo and Huawei’s latest EMUI 8.0, there are a couple of features missing from the Honor View 10 to make it even more appealing to customers.

The most important is Face Unlock, the one feature that many handset makers have decided to add to their smartphones, some even after the launch of their products. Thanks to the latest update, Honor View 10 adds to the list of smartphones that support Face Unlock function.

But that’s not all, as Honor has decided …

Honor fails to keep its promise, says Honor 8 will not receive Android 8.0 Oreo

Last month, Honor’s CEO, George Zao said in an interview that his company plans to release Android 8.0 Oreo update for Honor 8 and Honor 8 Pro very soon. The first of the two, Honor 8 was very well received by the press and consumers alike, which made Honor’s decision to offer the update looks even smarter.

Unfortunately, it appears that the Chinese company changed its mind merely a month after the statement of its CEO. Honor India has just confirmed that due to “hardware and software limitations,” Honor 8 will not be getting Android 8.0 Oreo.

The inexpensive Honor 7X will be getting Face Unlock functionality in Q1 2018

Honor announced yesterday the global availability of its View 10 and 7X smartphones, but it also introduced the limited edition Honor 7X Red, which will be available in limited quantities (20,000 units) in select markets.

The Honor 7X that made its debut in the United States last month is great value for money. At just $200, it offers more than decent specs, but if that’s still not enough to make you buy one, maybe Honor’s next announcement will.

The company has just announced that the entire lineup of Honor 7X devices will receive a new facial recognition …

Last month, Honor confirmed some its high-end smartphones will receive Android Oreo updates very soon. However, as many other smartphone companies do, Honor is going to test Oreo before rolling it out to its devices.

Although an official Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Honor 8 Pro should have been released by the …

Huawei's 2018 roadmap may have just leaked, includes four Honor and three P series phones

Usually, we kind of know what high profile smartphones companies like Apple, Google, LG, Motorola, Samsung, and Sony plan to launch each year. The only things left to determine is their final design and the new stuff they bring to the table.

Well, it looks like Huawei’s 2018 roadmap has just leaked and if it’s accurate, it doesn’t really bring any surprises. The Chinese company plans to launch three P series smartphones – P Plus, P and P Lite – in Q2 2018.

In the first quarter of 2018, Huawei plans to make the Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Lite available for purchase …

Honor 7X Review

Huawei’s budget-friendly Honor sub-brand has released the follow-up to the 6X – its fiercely competitive mid-range offering – the Honor 7X. Now sporting a body constructed entirely of aluminum, the 7X steps up the class factor from its partially-plastic predecessor. Adding to this aura is the inclusion of an 18:9, 5.93-inch screen with minimal bezels to match. Throw in dual cameras and Honor’s typically quick performance, and you have a lean, mean $200 mid-range machine. But is it enough to knock off more recognizable and similarly equipped competitors?

In the box:
