HMD officials hint to new smartphone with display larger than Nokia 8

With the recent flagship launch, the Nokia brand is back in business, hopefully, for many years to come. Although Nokia is not the company behind the new Android smartphones, HMD is doing a great job restoring the name of the Finnish company to its previous glory.

Nokia 8 is expected to make its debut in Europe in early September for €599, but HMD has no immediate plans to release it in the United States. Even though there are other flagships with slightly better specs (OnePlus 5), the Nokia 8 is cheaper than Samsung Galaxy S8 and Apple iPhone 7.

HMD promises to fix the Dolby Equalizer issue affecting Nokia 5 devices

If you happen to own a Nokia 5, then chances are you’re being affected by a strange issue that prevents the smartphone from opening the Dolby Equalizer settings from certain music apps.

Many Nokia 5 users have noticed that when they try to open the Equalizer app from Google Play Music or Spotify, they get a white screen instead of the audio settings.

Although Dolby Equalizer does work when not specifically opened from those two apps (maybe others too), HMD Global has already acknowledged the problem and said they are already working on a fix.

For those who would still want …

HMD decides to remove the notification LED from the global version of Nokia 6

Here is something that might be of interest to Nokia fans anxious to get their hands on the latest smartphones introduced by HMD Global earlier this year. Nokia 6, the first handset HMD made available on the market (China only), will have different global variants that are supposed to hit the shelves in early August.

Even in China, two Nokia 6 models are available for purchase, but they’re not different when it comes to hardware. The only difference between the TA-1000 and TA-1003 versions is the fact that the latter comes with Google services, whereas the former …

HMD confirms more smartphones are coming this year, but there will never be a Nokia 4

Finnish company HMD Global is in the process of making its new Nokia smartphones available worldwide. The reception of the devices has been so warm that HMD has troubles in providing enough stock for many retailers and carriers across the globe.

However, come mid-July, all three Nokia smartphones that HMD promised to release on the market by the end of June should be available for purchase in just about every country where the company sells its devices.

Moving forward, HMD plans to launch even more smartphones, but there are no plans for any Android tablets. …

HMD to launch new Nokia feature phone, here are the first official pictures

The new Nokia 3310 has already been released in many markets, but this might not be the only feature phone HMD plans to launch this year. While we know the Finnish company is likely to introduce 6 or 7 new handsets by the end of 2017, we don’t know how many smartphones and feature phones are part of HMD’s lineup.

Thanks to some pictures that have been recently published by TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, we know HMD will be launching another feature phone in the coming months. The phone doesn’t have a name yet, and no details about its specs or price are available yet.

The …

HMD made some software and hardware changes to the international version of Nokia 6

Although HMD promised to release all its Nokia-branded smartphones globally by the end of June, it looks like many markets won’t be getting two out of the three Nokia handsets until July.

The Nokia 6 is the first Android smartphone launched by HMD, but the device was a China exclusive for many months. The international variant is supposed to hit European markets very soon, while customers in the United States will get the Nokia 6 in early July.

However, there are differences between the Chinese and global variants of the Nokia 6, and one of them is the amount …

HMD requests FCC change model number for the Nokia 9, cancelling version with 4GB RAM

FCC documents reveal that the Nokia 9, which already was certified by the regulatory agency with the model number of TA-1004, will now be known as the TA-1012. In a letter to the Feds, manufacturer HMD requested the change noting that the previous FCC results for the TA-1004 are representative of the TA-1012. HMD holds the license to use the Nokia name on its handsets.

Geekbench benchmark tests for the Nokia 9 have revealed versions of the phone with both 6GB and 8GB of RAM. Both of those models tested were powered by the high-end Snapdragon 835 chipset. Another Geekbench test of the now …

HMD confirms all Nokia smartphones will get the Android O update

Finnish company HMD Global confirmed earlier this week that all three Nokia-branded smartphones announced at Mobile World Congress 2017 will make their debut on the market by the end of June.

Moreover, the smartphones are supposed to be released globally by the end of this month, which looks like a major effort for a start-up company like HMD.

But that’s not the only good news HMD provided to Nokia fans this week. According to Techradar, an official of the Finnish company confirmed all Nokia-branded smartphones would receive the Android O update as soon as …

HMD to support Nokia phones manufactured after December 1, 2016 only

Soon after Microsoft offered to sell its ex-Nokia mobile division to the Finnish company HDM Global, it outsourced support for its feature phones and smartphones to a company called B2X.

B2X is a global service company that provides customer care support for mobiles devices on behalf of major players in the market, including Apple and Microsoft.

However, B2X is only going to provide support for Nokia feature phones and Lumia smartphones that were built before December 1, 2016. HMD confirmed recently that it would offer support to Nokia-branded features phone …

HMD Global to release new Nokia phones simultaneously in 120 markets in April-June period

With the MWC almost a month ago now, HMD Global has made a statement about possible release details for its Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 models. A recent announcement holds that the company is allegedly looking at a simultaneous launch of the devices in 120 markets. Nonetheless, HMD’s highly ambitious plan may see slightly different dates in different parts of the world, but still within the April-June period. However, we are in the know that it’s unlikely to see the handsets hit shelves before the second half of Q2. A couple of days ago, Clove UK confirmed this, publishing …
