According to a video posted today, Apple has fired an engineer after his daughter posted a hands-on video about the iPhone X on YouTube. While the engineer’s full name is unknown, we do know that his daughter goes by the name of Brooke Peterson. Apple requested that Brooke take down the video, and while she did comply immediately with the company’s desires, it was removed from the site well after the clip went viral.

Keep in mind that this was more than just a leaked iPhone X. This was an iPhone X that belonged to an Apple employee and the video revealed special QR codes on the phone …

Game of Thrones cinematographer gets his hands on an LG V30, praises its camera

When the LG V30 launched about a month ago, the company proudly announced how focused on video production its new phone is. That’s how the V series has been rolling for the past couple of years — the V20 put focus on audio by introducing the quad DAC, and the V30 upped the ante by adding cinematography features to turn your phone clips into something more than simple memorabilia.

One David Franco recently posted a home-made video made with the V30 and praised the phone in an interview. Who’s Mr. Franco? Well, he’s a cinematographer who worked on movies like The …

Jabra Elite 25e hands on

Rising from the ashes of a once booming Bluetooth headset
market, Jabra has successfully transitioned into making earphones and other
audio accessories – a feat that one of its main competitors *cough* Jawbone *cough* could not do. Earlier
this year Jabra released a pair of wireless sport earbuds, which boasted a
solid feature-set at a good price. This week the company has released a more
casual, but still “elite” follow-up: The Elite 25e.

The Elite 25e is a
behind the neck set of earphones, with buds strung along at either end of the
neck piece. The silicon buds themselves …

Alcatel A7 and A7 XL hands on

Not to be outdone by all the recent releases, Alcatel has
unleashed two of its own lower-mid-range contenders – the A7 and A7 XL. We take a first look at these devices to see if they pack enough value and features to create some buzz in this already crowded price point.

Design and Display

The XL is the better looking, metal bodied, and obviously
larger of the two. Packing a 6-inch, 1080p IPS display, the A7 XL’s metal
backing gives a more premium feel than the textured plastic of the A7, which
has a slightly smaller 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display. They’re both thicker …

The Alcatel Idol 4 Pro is available for pre-order via Microsoft Store for €479.99 or £419.99. The smartphone was supposed to hit the shelves on July 28, but that’s not …

Apple may take OLED panel production in own hands to reduce reliance on Samsung

According to a new report by Korean publication ET News, Apple has procured a number of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) machines that are used in OLED manufacturing with the intention to set up its own panel line in Taiwan. Although previous reports suggest that Apple’s partnership with Samsung may continue throughout 2018, when Apple is expected to introduce …

Huawei Honor 9 hands on: a look at the company's latest device

Yesterday was Huawei’s summer showcase in New York City, a
chance for the company to bring not just their latest devices stateside, but
their mission statement as well. Huawei’s slogan “make it possible” speaks not
only to the consumer but also to the company itself. Just a few short weeks
ago, it was named the 88th most valuable company on Forbes top 100
list, and now it seems Huawei is poised to creep up from behind and begin to steal
market share from the biggest names in the industry. Their high-performing
chipset sub-brand, HiSilicon, continues to produce capable and high-powered …

If you’re someone who still hasn’t picked up a smartwatch to accompany your phone, chances are the slew of new products from major manufactures aren’t swaying your decision in the slightest. While the LG Watch Style and Sport are nice showcases for Android Wear 2.0 and the Huawei Watch 2 looks to be a promising wearable for someone who’s a fan of rugged and sporty designs, there’s nothing all that revolutionary about these gadgets when compared to their predecessors.
MyKronoz is a company that you’ve likely never heard of, but the company just announced one of the …
