Alleged schematic of the Galaxy S9 leaks, reaffirms single camera

With 2017 coming to a close, we are also getting nearer and nearer to the next round of major flagship announcements — the first quarter of 2018 will be marked by the reveal of the Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+, and the LG G7, among other handsets. Of course, we are already hearing the first rumors and basking in the first leaks concerning the hot upcoming models.

Among reports that the Galaxy S9 will have even slimmer bezels than its predecessor, we also got a few leaks suggesting that it would have its fingerprint scanner moved to the “proper” location — not awkwardly …

The Mirabook is a shell of a laptop that can be powered by your Galaxy S8, Windows 10 Mobile, or Huawei Mate 10

Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile may not be doing extremely well, but it has a small community of devout fans. The company managed to attract a lot of them with the productivity capabilities of its Lumia devices — the Continuum feature, for example, was an awesome jump forward for the mobile world when it was introduced in 2015.

Quick reminder — Continuum is the feature, which lets you plug a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to your phone and use it as you would use a desktop PC, albeit limited to Windows native apps. This may sound familiar to Samsung’s DeX and Huawei’s …

Renders give us an idea of what the Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ will look like

Based on various leaks such as one from the Samsung S Health app that show a new position for the camera and fingerprint scanner on the back of next year’s flagship model, and a screen to body ratio that is expected to come close to 90%, a series of renders reveals what could be an accurate look at the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+. This year’s Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ had the fingerprint scanner right next to the camera lens. That created a problem when users blindly searching for the fingerprint scanner to unlock their phone, would smudge the camera lens accidentally.

European version of the Galaxy Note 8 receives a maintenance software update: Here's what's new

The European version of the Galaxy Note has just received an incremental maintenance update that squashes bugs, eliminates security loopholes, and last but not least, it introduces a trove of small but nonetheless useful features.
Probably the biggest issue that was dealt away with is the recently-unraveled DeX connectivity issue which put users at risk while using their phone with the DeX dock. Aside from that, the phone has also been updated with a new Secure Wi-Fi feature, which is Samsung’s own VPN service that’s steadily rolling out to more and …

Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ tipped to boast a 3MP iris scanner for improved iris recognition

It’s December already, which means that we are mere months away from the anticipated announcement of Samsung’s next big things, the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, so it’s quite normal to hear more and more about what these might have in store for us.
The latest rumor circulating about the duo comes straight from Samsung’s home turf and claims that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will feature iris scanners with increased resolution which would both increase the sensors’ recognition rate and shorten the time needed for a successful scan and greatly increase the success …

Dual SIM Galaxy S9 and S9+ models listed, may sport dual VoLTE as well

Not that it comes as a huge surprise, but the Galaxy S9 may land with a dual SIM version for those who need hooking up to more than one carrier or plan. Samsung has filed for regulatory approval of a dual SIM handset denoted as SM-G9608, with the “8” in the end standing for a Taiwan model.

There are two more dual SIM versions listed there, too – an SM-G9600 for China, and the eventual Galaxy S9+, with an entry number SM-G9650. Given that the Galaxy S8 is SM-G950, and the S8+ is marked as SM-G955, there is every chance that these dual SIM devices listed in the databases …

Snapdragon 845 phones like Galaxy S9 may sport Quick Charge 4+, here's what it means

Last week, Qualcomm announced the eventual Galaxy S9 chipset for the US models, Snapdragon 845. Previously, Samsung had given some details about its new Exynos 9810 processor, which, however, will most likely find its way into the global versions of the phone, as usual. What piqued our interest with the 845, however, was the promise for upgraded fast charging abilities, as the silicon has Quick Charge 4+ tech built in.

Samsung calls its own technology for pumping the Galaxy handsets full of electrons quickly Adaptive Fast Charge, which is probably what …

Alleged Galaxy S9 health app screenshot reveals a new finger scanner position

Well, well, well, Samsung may move the infamous Galaxy S8/Note 8 finger scanner underneath the camera lens for the Galaxy S9 indeed, if a leaked screenshot, allegedly detailing how to measure your heart rhythm in the S Health app is to be believed. As you can see in the grab, Samsung’s heart rate sensor that is used in conjunction with the S Health app, is positioned next to the camera on one yet-to-be-revealed handset, while the notorious elliptical fingerprint reader of the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 is situated way below, and under the camera.

This is certainly a better solution …
