Snapchat update adds new “Custom Stories” feature on Android and iOS

Snapchat recently pushed a new update for both its Android and iOS apps. The update brings a single new feature that allows users to create custom Stories and share them with their friends.

To start a new Story, you’ll have to tap the “Create Story” icon in the top right corner of the Stories page. The Story can be about anything and can include any of your friends. It can even be about a particular location.

The catch is that your friends can add to the Story whenever they want as long as you give them access to it. You can also decide who can view the Story, …

Noise-cancelling feature on new HTC earphones works on HTC U11 only

Last week, HTC introduced its new flagship phone, the HTC U11. This year, the company made it a point to listen to the demands from some of its fans by including an IP67 certification rating on the device. That means that the unit can be submerged in as much as 3.2-feet of water for as long as 30-minutes, and emerge unscathed. One area where HTC fans would have liked to have seen more done is with the battery. After stuffing a 4000mAh cell into the mid-range HTC One X10, the hope was that HTC would include a similarly sized power source on the U11. Unfortunately, HTC went with a 3000mAh …

Lenovo: Moto Z2 Play will feature a 3000 mAh battery

Although the Moto Z2 series of smartphones has not been announced, Lenovo confirmed its existence on Twitter. More exactly, answering a question from a fan, yesterday, Lenovo mentioned the Moto Z2 Play – an upcoming smartphone that should replace the original Moto Z Play (released last year).

The only thing that Lenovo revealed about the Moto Z2 Play is that the handset would come with a “non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery.” This confirms a previous rumor, and means that the new battery will, sadly, be less capacious than the battery found inside the original Moto Z Play (a 3,510 mAh …

Facebook rolling out food ordering feature in America

Constantly thinking of ways to make even more apps on your phone obsolete, Facebook is reportedly working on a food ordering option. It would work straight through the web and mobile versions of Facebook, making it possible to grab pizza without leaving the social network.

The new option can be found in the Facebook website sidebar, or under the app’s main menu. It’s probably limited to America, though, as deliveries are carried out via Delivery.com and Slice. Tapping the option will display a list of local restaurants that you can order from. The whole process can be complete through Facebook, …

Old Nokia feature phones find demand as sex toys

A new survey on female masturbation conducted in India, has revealed a whole new niche use for Nokia’s old feature phones. It seems that the vibrating components used on older models like the Nokia 3310 (the original unit, not the new 2017 version) are so powerful that women are using the phones to replace their personal vibrators. On the Agents of Ishq website, 100 women responded to the survey with several stating that they use their old Nokia feature phone to pleasure themselves.

Somehow, we can’t see Nokia including this information in a television ad as a special feature of the phone. …

HTC U 11 will feature 360-degree sound recording, new video teaser suggests

HTC wants us to get excited about its upcoming flagship smartphone – the HTC U 11. The handset will be officially announced next week, on May 16, but, before that, HTC released a new video teaser to keep our interest piqued.

HTC’s new video – embedded above – is quite short, and is accompanied by a “360 real-life recording” caption. From this, we can conclude that the U 11 will feature 360-degree sound recording – or maybe 360-degree video recording, too? This is the second U 11 feature that HTC is (kind of) confirming, after the phone’s squeezable frame – apparently …

Google Search gets new “Events” feature on iOS devices

Google is improving Search app on iOS with a new view and some additional filters that allow users to fine-tune their search for events and activities.

The new feature is available on the Google app and mobile web in the United States, so don’t try to use it in other countries. It’s called Events, and it will bring up a compact summary of activities from sites from across the web like Eventbrite and Meetup whenever you do a search using Google’s app.

For example, let’s say you search for “jazz concerts in Austin,” or “art events this weekend,” Google Search will now show …

5 feature phone alternatives to the new Nokia 3310 to consider, before the behemoth returns

We are not too far from the release of a revamped version of the Chuck Norris of phones, the new Nokia 3310, which is due to launch in Europe in the next days. Whether they actually need it or not, we bet quite a few people would order it, just to display in their memorabilia. Or just to drain more hours playing Snake. I mean, why not, since it will only cost about $60 – well worth for a Snake console, right?

In case, however, you have not been mesmerized by its, let’s admit it, slightly mundane design, the ‘rehab’ phones market already offers great 3310 alternatives. Summer …

Sony Mobile celebrates picture taking feature with Xperia Theme release

Japanese handset maker Sony Mobile has just released yet another theme for its Xperia devices, which is now available for free via Google Play Store. It’s not unusual for Sony Mobile to provide Xperia fans with new themes for their phones from time to time.

However, the new one is quite unique since it’s meant to celebrate the picture taking feature of the Xperia phones. The theme launched recently is called “Taken with Xperia” and allows Xperia users to customize graphical assets of their phones/tablets.

According to Sony, the theme was tested on several …
