LG G7 vs OnePlus 6: which upcoming phone are you more excited for?

OK, so as far as we know, we are in for a double treat this late April / early May. Industry veteran LG is about to unveil its new flagship — supposedly called G7 ThinQ — and the fairly new kid on the block OnePlus will also be releasing its “2018 flagship killer” — the OnePlus 6.

And the fight between these two might, in fact, be fierce. Both will come with a full-screen display with a notch at the top, both will feature the latest-and-greatest in flagship hardware. LG has its name backing it up, but it’s fair to say that the manufacturer has been losing some steam in the past years and …

Are you excited about the upcoming LG G7?

LG is taking its sweet time with its next flagship, that’s for sure, but we do know it’s coming. The company hasn’t really waved the white flag or anything, and some prominent leaksters have been posting tiny tidbits of information about the G7 (or should we call it the G7 ThinQ?).

LG has had a rough few years — the G3 was a nice flagship, though the G4 failed to recapture its spark, and the G5 really missed the mark with its modular concept. But last year’s LG G6 and LG V30 were pretty nice smartphones. Unfortunately, they were overlooked and underappreciated since the company had lost …

Galaxy S9 and S9+ batteries allegedly revealed… don't get too excited

A large battery — that’s every phone owner’s dream. But manufacturers also want to make their devices slim and elegant. So, there’s a fine balance that needs to be struck — make the device thin enough but don’t sacrifice too much of its battery life. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 is a perfect example of why one should be careful with this balance — the device had too small a compartment for its battery, which was sort of the general reason behind the whole exploding Note debacle back in 2016.

So, with the Galaxy S8, S8+, and Galaxy Note 8, Samsung played it safe and didn’t go with crazy capacities …

Which of these (supposed) Galaxy S9 features are you most excited about?

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are right behind the corner and, thanks to a plethora of leaks (nothing is sacred anymore), we have a pretty good idea what Samsung has in store for us. Sure, the manufacturer could possibly have a couple of secrets up its sleeve, but the Galaxy S9 has been churned dry by the rumor mill.

So, we even have the phone’s alleged retail box, giving us a clear-cut look at its upcoming features. We are quite hyped about them and if you were to ask us which one we are most excited about… we’d take a while to respond. Is it the overdue …

Dog is flippin' excited to see owner

TwitterFacebook

Dogs are too good for this world.

That’s an undisputed fact, but in case you needed some convincing, check out this dog enthusiastically greeting his owner who’s just returned from vacation.

The dog is so excited that he leaps from the car window and races over to his owner, skidding across the ground. There enough barks and tail-wags to warm even the coldest of hearts.

The good boy is scooped up by his owner and given a long hug and kiss, before resuming his enthusiastic barks and tail wags.

Try not to tear up at this blissful reunion.  Read more…

5 things we are excited about in 2018

Alright, alright, 2018 is well on its way and, after a rather uneventful CES as far as mobile tech is involved, we have our sights set to the upcoming Mobile World Congress superevent. And we are quite curious to see if this year’s models will be as strong as last — 2017 was definitely a very exciting year in the smartphone world.

But there are a bunch of interesting things — either rumored or confirmed — coming up this year that have us all giddy on the inside. Without further ado, here are 5 things we can’t wait to see in 2018:

Piper Jaffray: iPhone users not terribly excited about the new 2017 models

You would think that with the tenth anniversary iPhone offering several new features, fans of the device would be overly excited about upgrading to the phone that could be called the Apple iPhone X. According to Piper Jaffray analyst Michael J. Olson, people are no more excited about this year’s new models than they were for last year’s new product introductions, which included the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus.

Olson pointed out that the securities firm took a survey of more than 400 iPhone users and 16% of them said that they plan on upgrading to one of the new models this year. …

The Galaxy S8 is getting upgraded to Android 7.1 soon, but don't get too excited

Ever since the Galaxy S8’s release, Samsung’s been getting a lot of flak for not shipping it with the then-latest version of Android, 7.1.1 Nougat. How dare Samsung deprive users of valuable features, such as… new emoji? Or launcher actions for the Pixel Launcher? And maybe even Gboard GIF support? On second thought, these are both not such big improvements, and also don’t really apply to the S8, as Samsung uses its own emoji, keyboard, and launcher on the device.

In any case, the Galaxy S8 and S8 + will be getting the bump to Android 7.1 fairly soon, …

Apple iPhone users more excited about the HomePod than they were about the Apple Watch launch

Apple’s version of the smart speaker, the HomePod, is expected to launch this December. The company hopes that it will be able to get the product to market in time to capture some holiday sales during the last month of this year. According to securities house Raymond James, the HomePod is garnering more excitement from the Apple faithful than the Apple Watch did when the wearable was launched on April 24th, 2015.

Raymond James sent out a note to clients on Friday saying that according to its data, 14% of iPhone owners plan on purchasing a HomePod. A similar survey it took prior to the release …

If you're not excited after this 'Pitch Perfect 3' trailer then you're clearly dead inside

TwitterFacebook

The Bellas are back and they’re finally college graduates. Which is to say: they’re buried in debt, desperate for work, and rapidly learning that music isn’t a sustainable career for most people.

Fortunately for them, this is the movies. Can’t get a job? NBD! Ditch everything, get the band back together, and give the troops a boost on a USO tour.

That’s the premise for Pitch Perfect 3, which is dubbed in this new trailer as the Bellas’ “farewell tour.” As if it’s up to anything other than the movie’s box office performance to make a decision like that.

Pitch Perfect 3 arrives in theaters on Dec. 22. Read more…
