First photos of the HTC U11+, full specs for U11 Life emerge

Despite the recent acquisition of some of its talent and licensing of its IP portfolio by Google, Taiwanese phone maker HTC is set to announce a couple of devices at the start of next month. We know a fair bit of information about them: one will be a mid-ranger named the U11 Life, while the other will be an upgraded variant of the U11, called the U11 Plus.

But today has brought us a bit more information about both of those: the former got a full specs and price reveal, while the latter got its first real-life photos. Exciting!

Screenshots of Android Oreo with EMUI 6 on the Huawei Mate 9 emerge ahead of release

Huawei is actively testing Android Oreo for Mate 9, but the company’s first smartphone to ship with the new version of the OS will eventually be the upcoming Huawei Mate 10, which is expected to be unveiled on October 16.

Regardless, some of Huawei’s high-end smartphones will receive Android Oreo updates, and by the looks of it, the Mate 9 will be the first to get it.

The folks over at XDA got their hands on a working beta build and captured of some screenshots of Android Oreo with EMUI 6 on the Huawei Mate 9.

First official Nokia 2 pictures emerge, show front and back sides of the budget phone

Supposedly the cheapest smartphone to be launched by HMD this year, the Nokia 2 will probably be revealed later this month along with the Finnish company’s flagship, the Nokia 8.

A few sketches of the Nokia 2 leaked online last week made after a prototype unit running in the wild. Today, the phone was spotted at FCC (Federal Communications Commissions), along with a few pictures that show its front and back sides.

HMD seems to have designated model number TA-1029 to the Nokia 2. Aside from that, there aren’t any details about the phone’s specs, except maybe …

Pictures of Microsoft's canceled Nokia Mercury tablet emerge

Microsoft canceled more than one device while its mobile division was active. We’ve already talked about the Lumia 960 flagship smartphone and the Surface Mini tablet. However, we haven’t yet reported anything about Nokia Mercury, a slate that should have been released in 2014-2015 with Windows RT on board.
