Samsung Galaxy S9 dummy pops up in short video

Smartphone manufacturers often make “dummy” units to the exact specs of their upcoming hot devices. These are distributed to accessory-making partners to make their job easier and help them have products ready as soon as the phone launches. For example, popular case makers can score a dummy to test their new case models against and be ready with any corrections well before the handset is actually announced.

Of course, footage of such dummies will sometimes leak and it looks like this has just happened with a Galaxy S9 dummy unit. At least that’s what the person who leaked the video claims.

What …

High-quality iPhone 8 dummy in the new copper "Blush Gold" color, up close and personal

So, Apple is definitely moving some pieces around with how its iPhones look and feel this year around — some would say “finally”. While the “s” models that will succeed the current iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are said to be same in form factor, but sporting a glass back and wireless charging, it’s the iPhone 8 (a.k.a. iPhone X, iPhone Edition, iPhone Prime) that will have a revolutionary form factor, a proportionally radical price tag, and a bunch of premium colors to entice users to get the special handset.

On that note, we’ve been seeing a new gold shade for the all-screen iPhones. A descendant …

iPhone 7s Plus dummy unit captured in live pictures shows its shiny glass back side

With probably about a month away from the official reveal of Apple’s new iPhones, leaked information and images continue to add to the puzzle, so it won’t be long until we can see the bigger picture here.

Speaking of pictures, it looks like an iPhone 7s Plus dummy unit has been captured in live images. One of the smartphones that will be announced by Apple in September, the iPhone 7s Plus has a glass back instead of “standard” aluminum.

The overall design of the iPhone 7s Plus is not much different from the current model, although we aren’t offered a look …

Apple iPhone 8 dummy appears in shiny black, copper and pearl colors?

The tenth anniversary edition of the Apple iPhone is drawing nearer and nearer. The phone, currently known as the Apple iPhone 8, Apple iPhone X or Apple iPhone Pro, is easily one of the most eagerly awaited handsets in the industry. Thanks to the large number of leaks, we think that we have a good idea of what to expect of the “edge-to-edge” display on the upcoming premium version of the iPhone.

The back of the handset could feature a vertically mounted dual-camera setup on back, the iconic Apple logo, and absolutely no rear facing Touch ID button. The colors displayed in the accompanying …

New iPhone 8 dummy unit video reportedly provides the "closest look" at Apple's first 5.8-inch handset

Last week, we talked about a couple of photos showing an iPhone 8 dummy unit that might look like the real iPhone 8 that Apple is getting ready to announce sometime later this year. Today, the same iPhone 8 dummy unit showed up in a hands-on video that lets us better envision what Apple’s next big thing could be all about.

Revealed by @OnLeaks (one of the web’s most reliable sources when it comes to leaks and unofficial information) in collaboration with Tiger Mobiles, this iPhone 8 dummy reportedly provides “the closest look yet” at Apple’s upcoming handset.

As you can see for …

Latest Apple iPhone 8 dummy created to show a "live" look

The most recent news about the 10th anniversary Apple iPhone that has been dubbed the iPhone 8, are the images and videos showing so-called “dummy models.” These aren’t the dummy units that you might find at Best Buy. These are creations put together from leaked schematics and other rumored information. Benjamin Geskin, who has created a number of iPhone 8 renders that have captured the attention of many an iPhone fan, has created a dummy model showing what he believes the device will look like when it is turned on.

To create this look, Geskin posts on his Twitter account (@VenyaGeskin1) …

Take a peek at the first iPhone 8 dummy unit that actually looks like a real product

Another day, another alleged iPhone 8 dummy unit has been spotted online. However, this time the pictures come from a somewhat reputable source, serial leakster @OnLeaks, and also for the first time ever their subject actually looks like a real product that may hit the store shelves soon, instead of an incomplete attempt at recreating one.
Or in other words, consider this as the closest thing we’ve gotten to a real look at the iPhone 8 so far. So let’s dive in:
The front of the dummy shows us little we haven’t seen …

Shiny iPhone 8 dummy unit gets shown off in brief hands-on video

It’s not the most exciting 10 seconds of footage you have seen, but it is giving us something to look at. Designer and smartphone information leaker Benjamin Geskin published a video of him fondling a ‘dummy unit’ of the next iPhone.

A dummy is just a dummy – a lifeless mockup of a design that, in this case, may or may not be the real thing. It certainly looks credible and lovingly shiny, though, while the supposed stainless steel frame seems sturdy as ever. The vertical dual camera setup on the back is also present, quite likely to be an actual characteristic …

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 dummy reveals that an embedded fingerprint scanner is likely

The image of a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 dummy was spotted on Chinese micro-blogging site weibo. A video of this Galaxy Note 8 dummy also exists, showing it next to the obviously much smaller Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Right off the bat, we can see that the new version of Samsung’s high-end phablet features a vertically placed dual-camera setup on back, with what looks like a dual LED flash underneath.

Also of great importance is the lack of a fingerprint scanner on the back or the front of the device. This means that Samsung has apparently been able to fix the problem that prevented the …

Purported iPhone 8 dummy unit pictured with vertical dual cameras and under-screen fingerprint scanner

Designer and occasional leaker Benjamin Geskin claims to have obtained a dummy – more precisely, a CNC-machined model – of the upcoming iPhone 8. However, it’s difficult to discern which photos depict a physical unit, and which are a very good modeling job.

We are only certain about the pic showing the iPhone’s display, because Geskin ‘shopped it over a purported photo of the dummy unit. Do note that the screen he envisions covers the entire front, although there’s an overlay depicting the bottom bezel typical of all iPhones up to now.

Although the phone appears rather thick, Geskin …
