Dual camera with 3x zoom? Top new Galaxy Note 8 features to expect

With the Galaxy S8 and S8+ already behind us, we can safely turn our prophetic gaze into the future, namely the Galaxy Note 8. Samsung just announced its Unpacked event for August 23, where we can safely assume that the phablet will be unveiled for the world to see.
There have been plenty of leaks and tips about the phone already, plus we have the immortal words of Samsung’s DJ Koh: “I will bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8,” uttered way back in January to lean back on.
Could it be a …

High-end Nokia 8 allegedly leaks out, dual Zeiss camera included

Over the week-end, we told you that an Android-based Nokia 8 could be released in the near future. Now, we have what seem to be the first legit renders showing the Nokia 8 in all its glory.

Revealed by Venture Beat, the renders allegedly present the front and back of the Nokia 8. Obviously, this is a handset that doesn’t stray too much from the design of HMD’s current line-up of smartphones (Nokia 6, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3).

The yet-to-be-announced Nokia 8 has pretty thin bezels on the right and left side of its screen, but the top and bottom bezels are certainly on the thick side. …

Would you like to see a dual camera system on the next Google Pixel phone?

Dual cams seem to be turning into a fad as of late, though, manufacturers still can’t come to an agreement on how they should be utilized. Some stick a wide-angle lens for the secondary camera, some have a telephoto lens for optical zoom-in, and others don’t have a particularly special lens over the second camera, but its sensor is used purely for “assistive” purposes, collecting information on objects, distance and so on.

With a lot of manufacturers looking at the tech, Samsung is rumored to feature a dual cam on its Note 8 and we got to thinking — what if the One True Android Phone, *ahem*, …

Moto G5S Plus confirmed to get metal body, dual camera, bigger screen

Reporting for VentureBeat, seasoned smartphone leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) published a marketing image for the upcoming Moto G5S Plus. This is a “special edition” variant of the Moto G5 Plus from earlier this year. The reported changes can be summed as cosmetic – the phone is now made of aluminum – and technological.
A dual camera (two 13MP sensors, one color, and one monochromatic) has been added, the front camera has been upgraded to 8MP (from 5MP), and the display has been enlarged to 5.5 inches by diagonal. The smartphone also grows slightly bigger …

Asus ZenFone Pegasus 4A dual camera smartphone press images, specs, price leak

A new Asus ZenFone 4-series press image appeared online, alongside a purported spec sheet and price tag. Mind you, we wouldn’t say that we are 100% confident in what we are seeing here. In particular, the dual camera module on the back of the handset looks poorly edited. However, the rest of the images hold up and appear convincing, even though the smartphone’s design isn’t at all exciting or innovative.

For all the unconventional phones we saw this year, such as the Galaxy S8, the LG G6, and the Essential Phone, manufacturers from China and Taiwan seem to be compelled to retaliate with …

Meizu Pro 7 prototype #8 pictured with secondary display, dual camera

The Meizu Pro 7 will be the Chinese manufacturer’s flagship smartphone for 2017. It’s also shaping up as one of the strangest phones we might see this year, for leaked prototype photos confirm that Meizu is placing a secondary display right below a pair of cameras on the phone’s back panel. Although the idea isn’t new, as it was pioneered by the YotaPhone, Meizu’s spin on it is unorthodox, to say the least.

Reportedly, this smaller display shows notifications and other relevant information, just like the YotaPhone or today’s smartwatches do, saving battery life. …

OnePlus 5 dual camera revealed: 20-megapixel Telephoto lens, with iPhone 7 Plus-like portrait mode

The OnePlus 5 will have a dual camera system that will look and feel just like the one on the Apple iPhone 7 Plus: one regular rear camera and a secondary, telephoto shooter that will be capable of blurring the background and capturing portraits, according to a report by TheVerge a day before the official launch of the OnePlus 5.
We also now have the official OnePlus 5 camera specs: the phone will have a 16-megapixel main Sony rear cam with an f/1.7 aperture lens, and a 20-megapixel secondary Sony sensor with an f/2.6 telephoto lens. OnePlus …

OnePlus 5 launch event invites are out, contain kevlar case with cut-out for dual camera

There’s less than a week left until the OnePlus 5’s announcement on June 20. The company is sending media invites for the event, typically stylish and attention-sparking. More of a press kit than a mere invitation, the ‘assembly’ asks its beholder to “focus on what matters” – how enlightening!

What’s more interesting is that the invite contains a kevlar case (not confirmed if actual kevlar, or just texture) for, presumably, the OnePlus 5. Our presumption is based on the fact that the case features a dual camera cutout on the back (a horizontal one), …

Moto X4 with dual camera and 3,800 mAh battery could be announced on June 30

The Moto X4 is one of the three unannounced smartphones that could be unveiled later this month. We told you yesterday about the price of these handsets, which are known as Moto Z2 Force, Moto G5S Plus, and Moto X4.

Today, we have new information about the Moto X4, which is expected to be a mid-range Android smartphone that will cost around $325. It appears that Motorola will introduce the Moto X4 no later than June 30.

However, the smartphone is probably not going to make it to the market on the same day. Along with the announcement date, we’ve also learned …

OnePlus officially shows off the OnePlus 5, dual camera confirmed

While the OnePlus 5 won’t be properly announced before June 20, we already know various things about it. As of today, we can also take a look at an official render of the handset – albeit one that only shows half of its rear side.

Revealed by OnePlus itself, the render – seen above – tells us that the OnePlus 5 features “dual cameras” for “clearer photos.” This dual camera seemingly looks a lot like the rear camera of Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus, though it’s probably best for us to leave this comparison for when we’ll have a OnePlus 5 in our hands.

With the …
