Purported iPhone 8 dummy unit pictured with vertical dual cameras and under-screen fingerprint scanner

Designer and occasional leaker Benjamin Geskin claims to have obtained a dummy – more precisely, a CNC-machined model – of the upcoming iPhone 8. However, it’s difficult to discern which photos depict a physical unit, and which are a very good modeling job.

We are only certain about the pic showing the iPhone’s display, because Geskin ‘shopped it over a purported photo of the dummy unit. Do note that the screen he envisions covers the entire front, although there’s an overlay depicting the bottom bezel typical of all iPhones up to now.

Although the phone appears rather thick, Geskin …

Over the years, he has been uncanny at telling clients exactly what features to expect on the next-gen Apple iPhone. Now, turning his attention to Samsung, Kuo has passed along a pair of notes to clients. The first note says that market response to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ has been better …

Xiaomi Mi 6 visits GFXBench, revealing 12MP dual camera setup on back

Xiaomi is supposed to unveil the Xiaomi Mi 6 tomorrow. On the eve of the flagship’s appearance, the device was benchmarked by GFXBench. According to the site, the Mi 6 will feature a 5.1-inch display carrying a 1080 x 1920 (FHD) resolution. The Snapdragon 835 chipset is under the hood with an octa-core CPU, and the Adreno 640 GPU. Apparently, consumers will have the option of purchasing the phone with 4GB RAM/64GB of storage or 6GB RAM/128GB of native storage.

While previous speculation had Xiaomi putting a 19MP shooter on back, the GFXBench test shows that there will be a 12MP dual-camera …

Samsung Galaxy S8+ prototype with vertical dual cameras on back appears once more

Earlier this month, we passed along a photo showing a Samsung model with a vertically placed dual camera setup on the back. This was alleged to be a prototype of the Samsung Galaxy S8+. Apparently, Sammy had it in mind to include the two snappers on the rear of its premium flagship unit. Today, a new leak has surfaced once again, showing the same phone. What looks like an oddly placed fingerprint scanner on back could be merely the reflection from a flash.

Another thought is that the image in the picture is the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The most recent speculation has the next Samsung phablet …

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 concept images envision a striking 6.4-inch handset with dual camera setup

Want to get a look at a concept that just might come true? Here’s the Galaxy Note 8, envisioned by designer Benjamin Geskin. It looks like a jumbo-sized Galaxy S8 – something that Samsung is very likely to pull off for the Note 8. And it’s still beautiful, because it starts with the right foundation.

Benjamin assumes the Note 8 will have a 6.4-inch 4K Infinity Display (18:9 ratio) in addition to an in-screen fingerprint scanner, a dual camera setup on the back, and stereo speakers. Again, highly plausible features that Samsung could very well introduce with the Note 8 in the second half …

Alleged Apple iPhone 8 schematic shows vertical dual camera setup on back (Update)

UPDATE: Apparently, the Chinese text layered over the image clarifies that it is a fictional drawing of what the next iPhone could be.

According to tipster SlashLeaks, the schematic drawing that accompanies this story is allegedly showing us the 10th anniversary iPhone known as the Apple iPhone 8. As expected, Touch ID has vanished, and the fingerprint scanner is embedded in the glass as part of the .6-inch area of the screen that will replace the home button …

LeEco Le Max 3 leaks with dual camera, chunky metal body prior to April 11 launch

Despite its messy financial situation, LeEco keeps working on new devices, and the Le Max 3 looks quite up-to-speed. Thorough photos of the upcoming smartphone showed up online, revealing a handset that’s typically LeEco – simplified metal design with narrow screen bezels and software keys.

Notably, the smartphone features a dual camera and what looks like two LED flashes below the lens. Other points of interest include an USB Type C port, a chamfered metal frame, and a fingerprint scanner on the back.

Based on previous leaks, the Le Max 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 821 SoC, which …

Alcatel quietly released the first ever smartphone with both front and rear dual cameras

You may know Alcatel as the budget smartphone brand by TCL Corporation, which also currently owns the rights to the BlackBerry name. So it’s something of a surprise to find out that the company has very quietly released the first smartphone equipped with a dual camera system on both the front and the back.

Even more surprising is the fact that the device, named Alcatel Flash (not to be confused with the Alcatel OneTouch Flash or the Alcatel Flash 2), is only available in a few Middle East countries, and we can find no press release officially announcing …
